I am late. Looking for halloween decorations so when the girls get home from school on the 31st atleast there is something for them to see. I only decorate inside though. Mainly the dining room. I don't care for outside the house. I don't care for impressing people.

Don't let the stories scare you and deprive your children from experiencing Halloween for themselves.

I only got to do it when I was 15... and I feel like I was robbed. I'm too old to go by myself now.

@HootyTheNightOwl it's not only stories. They are real. It's the actions of people that makes me not trust a lot anymore.

@GunFinger If you are this concerned, you can still go out and collect the candy/money but play a "game" afterwards - where whatever they get in candy is a currency that they can trade with you for a higher reward - then you can dispose of it appropriately.

I know that I've never actually heard anything via the police or the official news about anything bad happening - but Facebook blows up every year with the same old scary stories.
