Recognize it.. then deep breaths

I go silent and know my reaction to anything for the next 10 minutes is going to be unnecessarily rude so I mindfully keep my mouth shut or go somewhere.

I like when I catch it on time like just a few minutes ago lol. I was starting to give my sister an attitude over a stain on the kitchen floor that one of her chicken bones made lol and I know she wouldn’t mind cleaning it if I just asked nicely.

voice whats making you irritable / vent about it. usually feel better after.
I usually remove myself from the position that puts me in contact with such an issue whenever possible because I realize honestly a lot of the time the irritation is a "me only" issue and I am solely in charge of how I respond to it. Easier to just get away than let it keep ruining my mood or my day if I can help it.

The first thing my mind goes to is my blood sugar levels. That makes me aware of the role I play in my mood regulation. I put the responsibility to diffuse the feeling on myself and in that way I avoid projecting my negative emotions onto someone else. I have a mantra, my emotions are for me to process, not project.

EldritchFox · 41-45, F
Remembering people aren't worth getting upset over because they don't care about you or your feelings.

Tell the cause of such irritation, to F-off

Breathe in: Listen to inner voice telling me that something is irritating.

Breathe out: Lower volume of inner voice.

Repeat until calm and objective.

It helps, but it's not the answer.
