I always have between $20 and $60 on me, and I have a stash of a few hundred at home.

Mostly, as in almost always, I use one of two cards for purchases, eating out, groceries, gas, travel, etc. Why not, they give me up to 5% back😁

I keep cash for my local bums, emergencies, vending machine at work, tipping etc. We still need cash😭. I see everyone using their phone to pay for stuff and I think they're nuts.

Recently, my card would not work at the sandwich shop. Actually, nothing came up at all to pay for. The cashier was confused and asked a coworker for help, and she was cluless, too. Then his supervisor got involved, and figured it out. The cashier had hit cash not card.

So he asked me if I had any cash. Otherwise he'd have to renter the order then tell the prep people to only make one sandwich. I gave him cash. I had coins in my pocket for the first time in ages. I felt so old-fashioned. The pandemic really changed things. Before, I used to regularly pay for lunch with cash, especially fast food. Now, I always use my card.

I had a girlfriend who did that..I usually have my debit card ,my phone and 20 bucks.....If I lose those I could be stranded in Manhattan,like,forever🫣
