Do you keep emergency cash on you, in your wallet etc?
I always keep no less than $50 safely tucked somewhere.

I have cash.
Recently, my card would not work at the sandwich shop. Actually, nothing came up at all to pay for. The cashier was confused and asked a coworker for help, and she was cluless, too. Then his supervisor got involved, and figured it out. The cashier had hit cash not card.
So he asked me if I had any cash. Otherwise he'd have to renter the order then tell the prep people to only make one sandwich. I gave him cash. I had coins in my pocket for the first time in ages. I felt so old-fashioned. The pandemic really changed things. Before, I used to regularly pay for lunch with cash, especially fast food. Now, I always use my card.
