Welp, it depends on how you define flirting.
I have been accused of being a flirt many times. I have been accused of encouraging men who flirted with me.
I like people in general. I have only twice in my life been aware that someone was flirting with me, only because they weren’t subtle. If you flirt subtly with me, I won’t get it. I’ll think you are pleasant and friendly.
Other than two arranged prom dates, I didn’t date in high school. To say I was a late bloomer is an understatement.
Twenty years later I was at a highway fruit stand and ran into the boy who sat behind me in economics.
We chatted for a bit and then he said, “I tried so hard to get a date with you, but every time I asked what you were doing Friday night, you’d say, “oh, Friday night? I’m going to be helping paint the church basement, or I promised to help my niece learn to ride my horse. You were the busiest damn girl I ever met!”
I did not know. That’s how good I am at flirting.
