Cities seem to have lost their vibe since the double blows of 2008 and then Covid. Closed-up shops everywhere, less foot traffic....
The country seems brighter and the air is fresher.

couldn't deal with city life, love being in the suburbs with few neighbors

I prefer rural living, but not too far from good medical facilities.

I'm a country girl. It's an easy drive into the city but I rarely go. I'm much happier where there are trees and fields.

@PatientlyWaiting25 I was on vacation in Positano Italy and mentioned to the young woman at the hotel while checking out that we were driving to Rome that day - about 170 Miles...I noticed something was off with her reaction, and asked, "have you ever been to Rome?"...."No", she said....
I can see the good in both but I like the country.

I like small city within a major one that has a small town feeling if that makes sense

For decades I worked in the city but lived in the country. That is perfect.

@yugimotodm I think so

Ideally, I’d be far enough out that I wouldn’t have close neighbors, but close enough that seeing a movie wouldn’t require much advance planning.
rinkydinkydoink · M
The city by a country mile 😁
Kinda depends on my mood. I've lived in both and I love the ease of access of the city but also adore the quiet of the country.
yugimotodm · 26-30, M
@DancingStarGoddess I get that. As I’ve gotten older I’ve grown to prefer the country

they have their place their negatives and positives.. i've been to both .. in the city you have everything around you in close quarters.. in the country you have space and nature but lots of travel towards things less traffic tho
Neither... give me a town or the suburbs.
4meAndyou · F
NEVER the city. But I used to live on my grandfather's farm every summer, and thought I would DIE of boredom
I prefer it right where I am...the residential EDGE of a large town.

City by far. I love being surrounded by people and getting lost in the hustle and bussel of life. I'm fairly isolated as it is, and cound never stand the isolation of the country. Don't get me wrong, I love nature, but I could never be there 24/7.
