In my early teenage years I was bullied and sometimes that takes a lot of fighting instinct out of you. The urge to stay quiet and not attract attention is very strong. By my mid to late teens I was a very angry individual and fought more.
As I grew older and more social I was invariably among the older members of my social group and it was backed up by a lot of responsibility towards them and then I'd have their back in tense situations, pervs at clubs etc
But I have to admit I still defer to talking things out than throwing the first punch,
i dont like fighting but i have always defended myself and will always do so if needed. I was bullied a bit when first moving to a different country as a young child and due to that my father taught me self defense and i did boxing and so on. So yeah i know how to defend myself but it takes a bit to actually get me to that point. I am normally very relaxed and in person seem to get on with most people nowadays, so yeah hopefully thats all just in the past
I used to be. I used to have alot more confidence in certain situations. I also used to not be broken down by bodily injuries. I think i could still defend myself if i had to. I can still seem intimidating to ward off a fight. But im pretty broken physically and emotionally .
The reality is most people don’t fight, won’t fight, and will shy away from injustice - doing the right thing when it really matters is rare. It’s dangerous professionally and personally. My experience is that it’s not that peole are cowardly, then just suffer from apathy and avoidance.
I learnt at an early age, if you’re not strong and you don’t fight, people will see you as weak, take advantage, hurt you. I’ve hardened over the years, the shit me and my family have gone through, I’ve had to be strong and fight. I’m a pillar of strength for my loved ones and they know it. I have to be.
I’m a fighter most definitely and have no idea how I’ve made it through half the challenges in my life but I also think you have to know when to hold your hands up and say nope and walk away.
@Justafantasy Exactly. My predicament right now. Smh. I really don't have the time and patience to do it. I mean, I could. But, I dont exactly want to.
I hate to use Trump as a good example of anything. However, in court he has a history of winning by outlasting his opponents, even if they have the law on their side. He just keeps coming back. But that only applies in civil cases of course..😷
