Breathe deeply, and reach out for help. Depending on where you live, State or local resources may be of assistance, but in general, non-government organizations, family, friends and neighbors are your best bet.

This particular squeeze is political, but its also part of bigger patterns with wages, housing, and living expectations.

FWIW, I've spoken with two people in the last few days trying to rearrange their living and financial affairs to cope with special needs kids.

I know it's not a solution, but hopefully you can find some solace in knowing you're not alone.

@MistyCee thank you im trying to come up with a plan
Arrow17 · F
Some people need government funding for daily life. They aren't in good condition. I had all the harshness in life when children were young.

You live in the west where taxes and living costs are higher than Asian countries (below 10% income tax, some salaries don't pay tax because they can't afford to be taxed).

Don't look down on yourself. You should fight for your case for the welfare system because you need the funds.
moonpeace81 · 31-35, F
@Arrow17 thank you for being nice .. you are right, i should send them a letter or an email...
Arrow17 · F
@moonpeace81 Your welcome.

Please fight for your case.

My husband had worked for his life by paying 40% to 50% income tax. He is trying to claim a welfare system from the government. He doesn't work anymore because his health has deteriorated. He had 3 surgeries within 2 years. My husband deserves the funding from the government. We don't want those asylum seekers who have never paid the income tax and National Insurance to get any money.
moonpeace81 · 31-35, F
@Arrow17 im so so sorry for you guys... i get what you are saying about the asylum seekers.. this country can make us evil...I swear i have the recipe for world peace but we were made to be greedy ... I wish they would crackdown on the ppl abusing the system ..so we can actually help the people who need it.. it wont ever be the way i want...i know god is watching over us...stay blessed

It's not the president. A bipartisan majority in both the house and senate has approved the continuing resolution to keep the government open. But the senate needs 60 votes. Republicans have presented a clean continuing resolution to get it open 13 times, but each time it gets blocked by democrats. THIRTEEN TIMES!!! I agree with your concerns. Not everyone is lazy and this nonsense needs to stop. Open it up ASAP. All they need is 5 democrats to vote to open it up and it opens immediately.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@moonpeace81 Don't let it bother you. Hatred out there is strong. Don't let it affect you or your life.

So to address the heating issue i know pot and hemp plants actually generate heat. 3 plants is enough to heat a singlewide home to 60 degrees Fahrenheit in vermont in the dead of winter. Food is a major concern i dont like it but Churches. Its an hour in a heated building in exchange for 1 piece(bite/mouthful) of nutrient rich bread. It might be worth it.
Foodbanks (are probably getting low on supplies, by now),
gardening,
can collecting (if your state has bottle/can returns (20 cans is 1$, it helps but is depressing).
Those are what i did when i was out of money and hungry. Alot of schools have free lunch for kids. Definitely look into that
Again i dont like it but xvideos and pornhub pay for video uploads 500$ and youtube pays $10,000 per million views
moonpeace81 · 31-35, F
@jehova thank you i might look at that xbideos lmfaooooo

If you already receive food stamps, then you have $21 in fuel assistance which you can spend on food.

IF you have a supplemental health insurance policy, SOME of those have an over the counter medicine benefit which can be spent on food instead of medicine.

Churches in your local area often run food pantries for people in need. AND there are also food pantries that are NOT affiliated with churches. All you need to do is google your zip code and type in "food pantries in my local area".

Instead of panicking, take ALL of the good suggestions you receive here and elsewhere, and make a plan!

AND please realize that after November 1st, Obamacare subsidies will expire, and then and only then will the Democrat Senate release their hostages...the American people.

In the meantime...PLEASE remember this, when it comes time to vote in the Mid-Term elections, and DO NOT vote Democrat.

Where’s the child’s father? No child support? Government assistance is temporary. It should only allowed for a short period of time. You have credentials then get a job paying decent wages and take care of your child. Why should taxpayers do it? If people aren’t going to take responsibility and take care of their own children and expect taxpayers to foot their expenses then they should be taken away and put into foster care and if they want visitation then they should be required to work and pay child support. Then after they have proven financial responsibility give them back their child with supervision from a court. We are tired of people mooching off of our hard earned tax dollars. People keep having kids because they can get more government assistance. They have no intention of ever getting a job because they’re just plain lazy and can’t pass a drug test. They should have to pass a drug test and prove who the children’s father is or they shouldn’t be eligible for assistance. If they can’t then they probably don’t have any business having custody of the children. Sorry not sorry. Get a freaking job and take care of your own child. Do you not understand? It’s not our responsibility.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@JimboSaturn
There are but you probably have to give up the father so they can go after him for child support and he’ll have to pay for all the assistance. Also you have to have a job therefore requiring the assistance for the child so you can work. Now for that I would be honored to help with my tax dollars.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@gregloa gotcha
gregloa · 61-69, M
@JimboSaturn
Yes that’s her point but do you see my point? Besides she can now get at least half of snap benefits and the government will be up and running soon. But that’s not the solution here.

You have false information about the shutdown, for one it’s not president Trump it’s the democrats that are doing it. They have voted no 13 times to not open the government Chuck Schumer said they are using this as leverage to get what they want, including healthcare for illegals. And a bunch of other 🐂 💩 for money for their little pet projects so they get their kickbacks
swirlie · 31-35
@Prison1203

...we're a richer country than you are, Prision! Don't kid yourself!

The US President has no control over the budget, it passed the House and the Democratic Senators are not voting for the budget, which is just a temporary spending measure until they can pass a budget.

So email your democratic senators and tell them to vote to open the government!
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
@Confined that is not part of this and you should feel ashamed for spreading such falsehood.
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
@ViciDraco his brain appears quite confined.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@ViciDraco This is on the Republicans and the Republican voters who happen to depend on the ACA (which is Obamacare) and on food assistance. Democrats are in Washington and willing to talk. Republican politicians are AWOL. FAFO trump voters.

@SW-User Seriously dude? How about leading by example?
It’s a bunch of bs coming from people who nothing about.
90 percent of the people who wants can’t keep a job because there little to no assistance to help them overcome the simplest of problems that life throws at them.
Quimliqer · 70-79, M
Can you find someone qualified to look after your child if you went back to work?
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Because people who are running your country are heartless. They are judgemental and assume that anyone who needs a hand is lazy and they should just pull up their socks and be better.

Republicans in congress are the ones being lazy and heartless, they're fighting to cut more taxes for billionaires while the 99% suffer
@SW-User Not true at all. They are trying to extend the existing budget to meet the needs without spending an extra $1,000,000,000,000+ the Dems want to add on top of what is already overspent. Has not one thing to do with billionaire tax cuts. The bottom ~ 35-40% or more of "tax payers" pay no federal taxes as it is .. facts matter.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@SW-User Nonsense. The budget was negotiated and agreed upon. At the 11th hour, the Dems pulled their support and have worked to keep the government shut down. This is entirely on the Democrats.
