I cant believe our president

I understand some people may say ,americans are lazy and depend on welfare.. I dont know how im going to be able to survive this government shutdown.. If i didnt have a special needs child i would shut the hell up and go to work

I have credentials, i can walk right into a hospital and ill be guaranteed work. im not lazy but my situation is not the best

im trying to not breakdown and panic because the system has been failing me since last year

then with gas in my building being out for god knows when , i get an extra 100 for restaurant allowance due to this.. now what am i supposed to do

the reality is sinking in

i may lose my mind, i have nothing , i have no support and now with these people shutting down the government ..now what?

Where’s the child’s father? No child support? Government assistance is temporary. It should only allowed for a short period of time. You have credentials then get a job paying decent wages and take care of your child. Why should taxpayers do it? If people aren’t going to take responsibility and take care of their own children and expect taxpayers to foot their expenses then they should be taken away and put into foster care and if they want visitation then they should be required to work and pay child support. Then after they have proven financial responsibility give them back their child with supervision from a court. We are tired of people mooching off of our hard earned tax dollars. People keep having kids because they can get more government assistance. They have no intention of ever getting a job because they’re just plain lazy and can’t pass a drug test. They should have to pass a drug test and prove who the children’s father is or they shouldn’t be eligible for assistance. If they can’t then they probably don’t have any business having custody of the children. Sorry not sorry. Get a freaking job and take care of your own child. Do you not understand? It’s not our responsibility.

@gregloa A simplistic understanding. As the OP said, she has a special needs child that requires special care. The father? For all we know, he could be dead. Do you know how hard it is to find a good paying job nowadays? A job that would afford extra help for a special needs child? Did the OP say anything about having many babies to collect money from the government?

Feel free to pay for it yourself!
Everyone has problems and issues. With her credentials she can get a good paying job. An awful lot of responsible adults have raised their own children not expecting taxpayers to foot the bill. Hard working people that can pass a drug test and get child support deserve government assistance if it’s still needed after these conditions are met.

@gregloa How can she work is she has to stay home to take care of her special needs child? Yes people have problems, but you shouldn't let kids go hungry because they were born with problems.

I'm happy to pay my taxes in order for people who need it can benefit. It's called being a normal feeling human.

Sure there are abuses to the system, but that doesn't invalidate real need.

Lots of people have children with special needs myself included. There are a number of ways to take care of them and some are probably better than she can herself. The SYSTEM provides this kind of help also.

There are but you probably have to give up the father so they can go after him for child support and he’ll have to pay for all the assistance. Also you have to have a job therefore requiring the assistance for the child so you can work. Now for that I would be honored to help with my tax dollars.

Yes that’s her point but do you see my point? Besides she can now get at least half of snap benefits and the government will be up and running soon. But that’s not the solution here.
