And Trump is still the commander in chief of a very powerful military machine. Plus the fact that the current congress is still in office for a while.. Plenty of time to subvert or bypass the result. And you know the Republicans are not above this..😷

None of them good for the nation or 99% of its people. And it doesnt matter who is in charge..That is happening..😷

I do believe we are all being led and lied too. They are not addressing the issues that most people are concerned with.
Neither side seems to be interested in serving the people as much as they are pushing their own agendas.

@Adrift I agree ... while I may be an anti-Democrat I'm not also a Republican but am independent. What I like best about Republicans is that they aren't Democrats. A low bar to exceed but still with a lot of space to do better.

With all our history of handling immigration Trump could have handled Biden's immigration failures better. Millions of Southeast Asians had to run for their lives to escape the killing fields in Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam. The US and the free world handled that pretty well by first providing safe harbor followed by a redistribution system that served the best interest of both refugees and their new host countries. For other examples, there's the Cuban refugees and Haitians.

Republicans also missed golden opportunities in health care and energy. We have universal access to education from K to 12, universal fire and police protection, highways and infrastructure that benefits everyone so why not universal healthcare, especially considering how Democrats can't seem to distinguish health care from wealth re-distribution.

The Press and the media isn't the news. They are what I call the US Disinformation industry. And political parties are best described as governments within a government. We all know what a RINO is. But have you ever heard of a DINO? Democrats do what they are told while Republicans have a bit more freedom to roam. Both sides could do better but one side could do a lot better.

@whowasthatmaskedman he won't. The scale of their defeat was so large that even the most cretinous MAGAt would be able to compute that the Democrats probably won. Vance won't have a leg to stand on, and luckily I think he knows it.

@Waveney :) Democrats usually misplay their winning hands. By next June when they will be encouraging riots and looting across America and the American people will be kicking themselves for handing them Congress and so many states.

@Heartlander I'm not sure why the Dems will be encouraging looting and rioting across the country by next June. I don't even recall a time when they actually DID encourage looting and rioting. Not even when racist cops were crushing the windpipes of Black men in public, or when ICE were gunning down lesbian women who hurt their feelings.

I'll agree that the Dems should not have shoehorned Kamala in for 2024 and that Biden should have announced his intentions pretty much the day he took office, but other than that, the Dems have no history of "misplaying winning hands".

Putin is a local problem to some of us in Europe. Though to be fair two of the member States of the EU wish to realign with him.

But the Islamic confrontation is much more complex. The Suni’s are committed to conversion, many by peaceful means. And that includes the conversion of Shi’ites as well as Christians, Sufis, whatever.
Added to the mix is of course Isreal, that does not listen to anyone.

In the UK we are a multicultural society caught up in this mess, controlled by outside players. How we approach this affects us all. But like everyone we are subject by high fuel prices and the cost of fuel.

@Waveney Thanks for pointing that out!! The only two "slow-to-count" states in 2026 are deep red Alaska & Mississippi. Because it's not a question of "counting" at all. It's a question of waiting for all the overseas military ballots etc to declare a close race.
