@JSul3 Equally, membership of those organisations should bar one from government employment.😷

Honestly, I like the idea of such a ban. People often speak of "bad apples" in the police force being the reason for the ones who commit brutal acts against civilians.

Hiring people whose previous job has been targeting and judging people as "illegal” based upon their appearance and skin color is problematic.
And it’s the very last thing we need added to some already volatile confrontations. 🙁
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@bijouxbroussard People who use the "bad apples" expression forget the rest of it.

"One bad apple spoils the whole barrel."
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
I feel like the supreme court might shoot that down. Upping professionalism and engagement standards across the state's law enforcement might be a suitable workaround.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@dancingtongue legal weed , sanctuary status , open carry , illegal abortion , etc.. all have become states rights issues.
I still don’t think this would stand though .
MethDozer · M
@AthrillatheHunt nope. Only discrimination agaisnt race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity), national origin, age (40+), or disability is illegal. Beyond that it is employment at will
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@MethDozer yea you’re right counselor
Northwest · M
I think they should be investigated before they're given a job dealing with the public, and allow the public to sue them personally for damages if guilty of human rights violations.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
Thats how you do it. Place actual consequences on the operators for being willing to do that job. Now. how about the equivalent of a $ex offenders registry. To notify law enforcement (the real ones) that you have "that kind of person" living in your area,..😷
I'm sure they are broken hearted. LOL
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
It's common sense, ice hasn't done background checks and a journalist found out that they hired her after 6 minutes in an interview. With them being in law enforcement would be a hazard

@MethDozer go hit your meth and stop playing label games deflecting everything you say.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
Sounds like saber rattling . It’s illegal and every lawyer / politico knows it.
Imagine Alabama saying any IRS agent under JoeB automatically has their CPA license revoked in Alabama ?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@MoveAlong I've given up asking them that when they say this. They always say that Portland burned, and then I show pictures of Portland proving that it's just fine, and then they tell me I don't understand what they were saying, and when they said it burned down, they meant parts of it, and it's just a whole boring thing.
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@LordShadowfire I know what you mean. I will bet @AthrillatheHunt doesn't realize that ICE killed more people in Minneapolis than died in Portland.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@MoveAlong The problem is, the pro-life party worries more about property damage than it does about human lives.
WestonTexan · 18-21, M
I hope so. There need to be consequences for being part of what is essentially a terror squad (and getting away with murder).

@Elisbch At a personal level I respect and to some extent share your viewpoint. The problem lies in that only those individuals actually guilty of committing an offence can be charged and after a trail jailed. And just being an @$$hole is not a crime. If you do more, you are guilty of the kind of "law" the other side promotes. And I want to think we are better.. Would the world miss all these people if every one of them disappeared painlessly tomorrow. No. And the average US IQ may lift a point or two. Marginalise them and look for a way to stop them doing more harm, Sure.. But you cant jail them just for being ignorant stooges..😷
Vin53 · M
Just do what the trumps used to do with apt applications by black people, make a small notation on the application itself indicating the person used to work for ICE and discriminate that way secretly yet effectively.
Rabbit420 · 70-79, M
Let's hope they follow California's lead!!!!

@jshm2 But it is legal to have requirements and standards for any job. I know my place of employment will not hire a pedophile and would fire anyone who was found to be one. Same with law enforcement, not ever hiring an ex ICE officer is within their right I would think
ice agents who never intend on working in commiefornia..

ItsMeMorgue · 46-50, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout You sure do have a lot of opinions about US government agents murdering citizens for an Australian.
SumKindaMunster · 56-60, M
It would be overturned by the Supreme Court if it came to it.
@SumKindaMunster Sorry, not a fan of dementia or racists.
SumKindaMunster · 56-60, M
@independentone Or critical thinking....or having your virtue signals ignored...
@SumKindaMunster I'm opposed to the rough shod tactics of ICE, I have no problem with deporting illegals, but just rounding up people because they aren't white is wrong.
If the government really wanted to solve the illegal problem, it is actually very simple, just pass a law requiring every employer to use e-verify. Any business caught hiring illegals and not verifying their right to be in this country face a $10,000 fine for first offense and loss of business on a second offense.
Problem solved, and no ICE agents needed and innocent people aren't hurt
ItsMeMorgue · 46-50, F
Oregon and Washington definitely will. Pretty much all the blue states will probably step up.
ItsMeMorgue · 46-50, F
@AthrillatheHunt Keep rejecting the evidence of your eyes and ears.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@ItsMeMorgue keep falling for the sophistry

@AthrillatheHunt Which regime is it doing this?

MethDozer · M
Great idea actually.
kodiac · 22-25, M
All federal funds should be stopped going to California and any other sanctuary city or state. Besides who the hell would want to live or work in californication? California has no legitimate law enforcement anyway.
@kodiac I know I'm tired of my tax dollars going to the lazy people in red states who are not productive enough to make it on their own.
kodiac · 22-25, M
@independentone Ha ha you're hilarious. Well if you opt out then you're taxes can all go to illegals alphabet people, the thousands of homeless living on the streets because the weather is good and the govt supports them why work? California is as far from the real world as earth is from the moon
@kodiac 4th largest economy in the world says Ca is anything but poor. The illegals work hard and are much more productive than the slackers in the south and midwest. I do think the homeless should be rounded up and sent to Texas or other southern states where people are lazy and they would fit right in.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
This is irrelevant. They are already employed and getting paid.
@Zonuss True, and they better hope they are able to keep that job because no career in law enforcement will be available to them in California in the future

@bert199
your delusional.
My delusional what?
The left letters in millions of illegal immigrants, un vetted
Source?
If you like illegal criminals hiding in our neighborhood then that’s your business.
I don't, actually, but Trump keeps sending them to assault innocent civilians.
The process isn’t perfect...
[media=https://youtu.be/bkLd-6i8u70]
@bert199 According to Vance, there are about 30 million undocumented in this country. In 2025 they are responsible for 29 murders, that means 1 in a million is a murderer.
On the other hand there are about 22000 ICE agents who are responsible for 34 deaths, making 1 in 674 ICE agents murderers.
MethDozer · M
@bert199 its actually not illegal, federally only discrimination agaisnt , color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexuality/gender identity, national origin, age (40+), and disability is illegal. Beyond that it is employment at will homie and the state can set any requirement it wants beyond that.
