Just a quick reminder about America and climate change.

Since the Industrial Revolution, America is the largest climate polluter by a significant amount.

China's recent growth in emissions is exacerbated by American hyperconsumerism.

America didn't participate in COP30 this year.

America is the birthplace of climate denial.

Firstly, yes, you’re right. But stop talking about it, nothing’s going to get done. You know why? Because working class voters, voters without a college education, swing voters, the voters that used to vote Democrat that Democrats need to win back won’t go for it. They think that fixing the environment and/or doing anything about climate change makes us too weak and too woke. If Democrats want to win elections they need to focus on strictly economic issues, and everywhere else they need to move back to the center. Otherwise we get MAGA again.

If you’re like me and you want to see real progress you’d probably better find a different country to live in. That’s what I would do if I had enough money and was better able to take care of myself. In the US there’s too much unnecessary bullshit that comes from outdated systems that you just don’t have to put up with in other places.
@JPWhoo Actually, no. Actually. we are already reducing the problem.

Below is a logarithmic graph of CO2 emissions. A straight line on a log graph means exponential growth. Since the 1970s we've gotten off the exponential growth curve. That's significant progress.

@JPWhoo And I do. I no longer live in America. I live in a civilised country now, my place of birth.

COP 30 cleared 8 miles of protected jungle so that 50,000 people could drive in style on a new four lane highway to Belem after arriving in the private aircraft.

The road does not connect local communities according to the state government of Para just the airport with Belem.

The airport was expanded to accommodate 14 million passengers, a 100% increase.

Anyone who didn’t go might have a point 😁.
G7J2O · M
@meJess Nice bit of spin.

1. Yes, the road exists, but no, it wasn’t personally commissioned by the COP30 Dark Council just to chauffeur VIPs in limousines.

2. The highway plan has been around since 2012, not birthed overnight because climate negotiators demanded a red carpet through the rainforest.

3. Officials literally stated it’s not an official COP30 project, but of course you know better than the government of Pará and the summit organizers.

4. The airport expansion serves long-term civilian traffic too, not just 50,000 conference guests arriving in synchronized private jets like some climate-themed Avengers film.

5. And while deforestation happened (which is NOT a good look, granted), presenting it as a bespoke jungle-massacre solely for COP30’s convenience is… let’s say, impressively creative storytelling.

I will just add, though, that I am NOT happy with it personally.

Let them deny climate change and its effect. Time and the results will prove they were wrong and the effects will be upon their descendants, but also upon those who knew it's occurring.

The question is, will mankind change what they're doing and I seriously doubt it.

Yep, it's all in how you deliver your self-absorbed, solipsictic, America Hating Virtue Signaling while broadcasting from a safe distance that matters.

Here are two very important books for you to read, lil' B...

Don't come back.

@PatKirby I am not American. I live in a civilised country with free healthcare, free education, heavily subsidised childcare, low cost of living and a largely pollution free environment. We can even swim in the harbour of our capital city. I'm not going back to America while Trump is in charge :)

Climate change or co2 in the atmosphere is the blame by the way how much co2 by percentage is in the atmosphere? How much was the co2 % 200 years ago? Also based on artic ice how high was co2 500 million years ago?

True, but at least I'm wearing my swimsuit in case you're wrong!

@Reason10 The Obama house is about 100 yards back from the shore. If they can get 30 years out of it and afford it, then sure. The Obamas got a $65 million advance for their memoirs, and Michelle earned $36 million on her first year of sales in 2019. So they CAN afford it.

AND. Antarctica IS melting.
Research based on satellite data indicates that between 2002 and 2020, Antarctica shed an average of 149 billion metric tons of ice per year, adding to global sea level rise
https://climate.nasa.gov/climate_resources/265/video-antarctic-ice-mass-loss-2002-2020/

And as Antarctic glaciers melt, the meltwater trickles down and lubricates the slide of ice into the sea. That also raises sea levels. And as more ice slides, there's less weight holding back the ice that's uphill. This is how the tipping point happens.

P.S. It's cute that you base your climate theory entirely on the spending habits of a couple you don't respect while ignoring the consensus opinion of the American Physical Society AND the American Chemical Society AND the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and at least 15 other national organizations of publishing scientists🤣😂

The great climate hoax was just a way for a few people to get very rich. And you people fell for all the lies.
ron122 · 41-45, M
@swirlie Sure dude.

@ron122 Game, set and match to me :) Sorry it scares you. It scares me too, but I don't cry and stick my fingers in my ears like a 5-year-old.

@G7J2O fn no,

I really don't think we have to worry too much about America being the birthplace of climate denial, because as the US slides deeper into the economic abyss it created for itself, the first thing you will begin to notice is everyone walking instead of taking their cars because very few Americans will be able to afford a car. Problem solved!

@BizSuitStacy
Pity your opinions are worthless in the US.
As are yours, because no-one is listening, and President Biden isn't getting charged for anything 🤭
@G7J2O my opinion, along with 77 million others, counted big time. Tell me...do you vote in our elections, brit-boi?
G7J2O · M
@BizSuitStacy Well you'd better march on Washington again and demand President Biden faces charges for something he didn't do. You can pretend it's tit-for-tat as Trump did nothing either, did he? 🤭

China makes up the most and cares the least.

You excel at lying. British obviously.
