Just a quick reminder about America and climate change.

Since the Industrial Revolution, America is the largest climate polluter by a significant amount.

China's recent growth in emissions is exacerbated by American hyperconsumerism.

America didn't participate in COP30 this year.

America is the birthplace of climate denial.

Firstly, yes, you’re right. But stop talking about it, nothing’s going to get done. You know why? Because working class voters, voters without a college education, swing voters, the voters that used to vote Democrat that Democrats need to win back won’t go for it. They think that fixing the environment and/or doing anything about climate change makes us too weak and too woke. If Democrats want to win elections they need to focus on strictly economic issues, and everywhere else they need to move back to the center. Otherwise we get MAGA again.

If you’re like me and you want to see real progress you’d probably better find a different country to live in. That’s what I would do if I had enough money and was better able to take care of myself. In the US there’s too much unnecessary bullshit that comes from outdated systems that you just don’t have to put up with in other places.
@JPWhoo Actually, no. Actually. we are already reducing the problem.

Below is a logarithmic graph of CO2 emissions. A straight line on a log graph means exponential growth. Since the 1970s we've gotten off the exponential growth curve. That's significant progress.

@JPWhoo And I do. I no longer live in America. I live in a civilised country now, my place of birth.
