I just read an interview with a woman from Pennsylvania who's voting for Trump because he's a business man and will get the economy in shape.

My question is this... He's been bankrupt 11 times, he even lost money operating a casino.

In what disconnected world does she see him as being successful.

Because he's still got millions 🤑
His failed businesses are a tax write off, And you some businesses fail. Hotels, restaurants and casinos are a risky business.
Our economy was great in 2018-2019 (pre- covid)

No one really knows. He has never released his taxes. What we do know for sure is that he lies about every single thing. But you may disagree with that.

His failing finances became clear when he could not pony up bail money.

His real shot at making money, is if he wins the Presidency, and he can cash in all the stock he has in Truth media, a company that's been hemorrhaging money from day one, and has no chance of making money. Those buying its stock, are not hoping it will make money. All they want is to able to cash in on the stock.

Another Trump scam.

His failed businesses are a tax write off, And you some businesses fail. Hotels, restaurants and casinos are a risky business.

Every single business he created, has either lost money, or gone bankrupt. A tax write off is useful is the business is making money. If it is not, its one of the reasons a business goes belly up.

In reality, casinos are extremely profitable. Check with the Native American tribes.

The only thing Trump is making money off, is selling/renting his name. And that goes for Trump media. He allowed them to use his name. Period, for 70% plus of the company.

If it wasn't for his cult, by any standard, he's a colossally failed businessman.

Absolutely. But why? Here's a hint: look at the trajectory he inherited from Obama.

It’s almost like MAGA-Minds forgot this happened:

@Montanaman His failed businesses were failures, like pretty much every business he's run. As one economist pointed out, if he'd simply taken the money he inherited and struck it in a decent mutual fund he'd have made more money than he's made with all his cons and scams.

Over 350 companies owned or operated by President Trump and his corporations, what corporations has harris run, aside a part-time job at McDonalds
daydeeo · 61-69, M
@justanothername That's absurd
Convivial · 26-30, F
@daydeeo fraid not, back in the early days if you care to look it up

@Patriot96 The profits from his merchandising definitely aren’t being used for political fundraising.

There’s also a reason why he refuses to file a tax return.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Reality is the economy soared while he was in office. The rest is noise.

@jackjjackson How long can you keep it on , after 4 years you are death ?

Bankruptcy doesn’t mean a vendor won’t be paid or won’t be paid everything the are owed. If you think it’s a way to screw over vendors maybe you don’t realize that the processed is managed by the bankruptcy court, and if there isn’t enough asset value to cover liabilities, it’s the owner that ends up with nothing. If Trump declared bankruptcy 11 times, and he still has vendors willing to do business with him then the implication is that he can be trusted and unlikely anyone got screwed.

While on the subject, why are Hunter Biden’s businesses all LLCs? Limited liability Companies? Meaning that he takes no personal responsibilities for the losses or what’s being provided for the money paid. And why would anyone doing business with a LLC wouldn’t require guarantees that they got what they paid for?
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
I believe he had several hundred businesses.
Do you know anything about running a business , finance or economics
SevIsPamprinYouAlways · 56-60, F
@Patriot96 Yeah, about his “successful” track record with businesses:

Heartlander · 80-89, M
@Convivial You need to do a bit of research. When he but his projects into bankruptcy it was to assure vendors and creditors that they would be fairly treated and he was putting 100% of his own stake on the line to assure that.
Convivial · 26-30, F
@Heartlander so why do so many of his vendors and students from his University sue him?
Amylynne · 26-30, F
these are Fact averse people. the will deny any fact that does not line up with what they believe
she believes what she has been told. she has not looked at the record itself

Correction: Trump has filed for Chapter 11 business bankruptcy four times. Trump Taj Mahal 1991, Trump Plaza Hotel 1992, Trump Hotels and Casinos Resort 2004, and Trump Entertainment Resort 2009.

Business reorganization, not personal bankruptcy.
Convivial · 26-30, F
@easterniowegin did those let him escape paying what he owed?
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
The Apprentice gave him a cloak of competence that he never possessed. An executive on the show has recently come forward with regrets that the show made him out to be a legitimate businessman
you mean he crawled back from bankruptcy 11 times and is now a billionare?

hmm.

seems like hes got more of a handle on it then most politicians installed by big corp money..

just sayin

Trump could be homeless and do better than a corpse like Biden. Biden isn't running the country at all, we don't know who is but it has to stop.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
She needed to read that letter from the NBC executive regarding The Apprentice.
Convivial · 26-30, F
@trollslayer tbh I'm not aware of that letter or it's contents

It's fairly easy to LOOK successful when you start out a multimillionaire because of your Daddy.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
At his level those things are just typical business practices.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
Chrysler and GM went bankrupt as well.
