I just read an interview with a woman from Pennsylvania who's voting for Trump because he's a business man and will get the economy in shape.

My question is this... He's been bankrupt 11 times, he even lost money operating a casino.

In what disconnected world does she see him as being successful.

I believe he had several hundred businesses.
Do you know anything about running a business , finance or economics

@Patriot96 apart from being bankrupt 11 times doesn't quite fit the ideal of being successful... And he does have a reputation of not posting his bills

@Patriot96 Yeah, about his “successful” track record with businesses:

@Convivial You need to do a bit of research. When he but his projects into bankruptcy it was to assure vendors and creditors that they would be fairly treated and he was putting 100% of his own stake on the line to assure that.

@Heartlander so why do so many of his vendors and students from his University sue him?

@Convivial Sueing is a national pass time anymore

@Convivial He didn't own the "university". He was paid for the use of his name. The operators of the school were independent of his organization.

@fanuc2013 not quite correct ...

Trump University (also known as the Trump Wealth Institute and Trump Entrepreneur Initiative LLC) was an American company that ran a real estate training program from 2005 to 2010. It was owned and operated by The Trump Organization. A separate organization, Trump Institute, was licensed by Trump University but not owned by The Trump Organizatio

Trump University was also the subject of two class actions in federal court. The lawsuits centered around allegations that Trump University defrauded its students by using misleading marketing practices and engaging in aggressive sales tactics. The company and the lawsuits against it received renewed interest due to Trump's candidacy in the 2016 presidential election. Despite repeatedly insisting he would not settle, Trump settled all three lawsuits in November 2016 for a total of $25 million after being elected president.

@Convivial

so why do so many of his vendors and students from his University sue him?

It’s how some resolve disputes. For a variety of circumstances I have close up awareness of a numerous of lawsuits. My wife served as expert witness in a handful of lawsuits. One ran for years. One company I worked for was owned by 2 partners and they got into q hell of a disagreement , sued one another and I sort of got caught in the middle. A lawyer neighbor had some interesting cases and asked my help a few times. One was about his serving as receiver for a bankrupt hotel and would I mind helping him secure it for a few nights.

Getting sued doesn’t mean you did something wrong, but more about the planned assumptions didn’t work out.
Convivial · 26-30, F
@Heartlander getting sued for not paying the bills would seem to get into the class of doing something wrong
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@Convivial Not really. People also don’t pay when they don’t get what they ordered or what they contracted for. Or possibly the person who contracted didn’t have the authority to do so. Most people have experienced scam email invoices or such. Businesses deal with that on a daily basis.

@Heartlander Absolutely correct.
