Democrats, the peace loving people that want unity?

The other day, my 68 year old neighbor went to our local grocery store, did her shopping of just a few items and was returning to her car in the parking lot.

She noticed that the small Trump flag she had on the car was broken off. She then started to put her bags in the car when this woman came up to her and started yelling obscenities at her for being a Trump supporter.

My neighbor told the woman that it was her right to support whoever she wanted and if she didn't like, she was free to leave. The woman then began pushing and shoving my neighbor while still yelling, berating and cursing at her. My neighbor was eventually knocked to the ground.

Someone, (obviously someone who didn't want to get involved,) must have called the police because they showed up rather quickly, but not quick enough.

After she threw my neighbor to the ground, she quickly left, so the police couldn't do anything about it. The policeman she spoke to, told my neighbor that this type of thing is becoming more and more common and that he thinks it's going to get worse as we get closer to the election.

IDK, if you want to challenge or sway someone's beliefs or opinions, it seems to me that violence will push them further away rather than bring them around to your way of thinking.

What is wrong with these Democrats? They want to de-fund the police, they want to riot and destroy cities, they want to release criminals out on the streets again with their no-bail policies, they support the lunacy that is Joe Biden, funding Ukraine, protesting for being pro-Gaza, and being anti-Israel, helping Palestine, Iran and Iraq.

I apologize for the lengthy post, but I had to vent about this.

There's a long established pattern of violence with leftists. There are 3 stages...it's starts with a nudge (usually gaslighting, smearing, fake news, etc.). Then comes the shove (weaponization of gov't agencies, rioting, etc. - we are in this stage, now). The final stage is shooting. We'll see if the left is willing to go there since their enemy is well armed.

I’m sorry that happened to your neighbor, it was wrong. People have all kinds of reasons for supporting the candidates they do, nobody should be physically attacked for them, and people should generally just mind their own business.

However, you can’t tell me Trump supporters don’t ever do some of the same stuff, and from my point of view the policies they support seem crazy too. They probably seem as crazy to me as Democratic policy preferences do to you.

Why is it that there's never any real evidence of these right wing zealots being assaulted, abused, etc. It's always second hand anecdotes. Strangely there's plentiful evidence of these same zealots assaulting, abusing people who have the temerity to disagree with them.

Things like that happen at sporting events all the time despite no elections being involved.

This incident has video and a police report; your incident is second hand (you weren't there to see how it started). Regardless, it would be a mistake to draw any general conclusions about vast cohorts of people from either incident.
