Ted Cruz reminds AOC

Ted Cruz reminds AOC her own Democratic Party founded KKK, wrote Jim Crow laws

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ted-cruz-reminds-aoc-her-democrat-party-founded-kkk-wrote-jim-crow-laws
Yeah, and someone needs to remind him that it's 2023 and the Klan leans right. Far right.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@latinbutterfly which means nothing. The kkk is democrat hard core. Just because they reside in a right leaning area does not mean they are.
@MasterLee I mean, of course you're going to continue to be in denial even with facts. I should know that by now 🤭.
JSul3 · 70-79
@MasterLee Reminder: Former KKK Grand Dragon David Duke said that Trump was his dream candidate.
So who gets the credit in the 20th century? The ones that supposedly "invented" racism............or the ones who have perfected it into a fine artform?
specman · 51-55, M
@windinhishair All that I'm saying is the Civil War was fought to end slavery for other reasons other than because of moral reasons. There were other reasons that motivated the North. They of course were linked to slavery, but they were not moral issues. I am aware though it is taught with the only reason being for the Immoral reasons of slavery. (who wrote the history considered mainstream? the North. Of course they wanted people to think they warred for the cause of moral nobility. )I realize we are not going to agree on this. So we will just carry on believing what we believe right or wrong. Thanks for your patience with me.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@specman As far as I am aware, the Civil War is not being taught as solely a moral war to free the slaves. Even in middle school we went into the economic reason, states rights issues, and other factors. My kids were certainly aware of them in the 1990s and 2000s as well. If you were taught otherwise, your teachers failed you.
@specman The Civil War was fought to preserve slavery, not end it. Fortunately, the aggressors lost.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
The KKK was founded in 1865, which is 158 years ago. It has no relevancy to the KKK today, which supports Trump and the MAGAs.
@BohemianBoo For anyone who is so cultified they still trump won..........................have then Google "kkk for Trump".

I absolutely guanantee they will hate you for life because they all know Dems love the KKK..............but strangely enough the first 12 links you will see when you Google that..........and I stopped counting at 12...........are ALL about trump's history with the KKK and how they support him in his past elections...and in the next election.........if he has one.

Stranger yet.................if the Dems love the KKK...........why does the cult hate them? I mean if KKK loves trump..... why hate the DEMS....who are the KKK in their minds?

They are obviously the same things.......trump supporting KKK'ers and Dems. Right? If the KKK (the Dems) support trump..........shouldn't the cult and the Dems be on the same side? ;-) ;-) 🤔
@anythingoes477 I really think at this point, Republicans who bring up how the KKK used to vote Democrat are just being dishonest. We all know about the party switch. These people either like the KKK or they don't care either way, but they think it's a good argument against Democrats.
@BohemianBoo The problem with a lie is that you ALWAYS have to make up a second one and then a third to fill in the gaps when someone says.......whoa that don't make sense. Lies always need to be defended..........the truth never does.

There is no logic to the lies. Take "antifa" for instance. Call a trumper a Fascist and they go ballistic how that isn't so.............but who do they hate? The Anti-fascist --------antifa. Anti means opposite. So if you're NOT a fascist.......why do you hate people who are against Fascism? Or the Dems are the same as the KKK...."they invented the KKK".

Really? Then why do trumpers hate the Dems? The KKK is the #1 supporter of the white supremacist movement.........that is completely in support of the trumps. So if the KKK supports trump and the Dems support the KKK...........why hate the Dems. Aren't they on the same side to help you elect trump?

But say those things and you get the deer in the headlights look...........and then the story changes and new lies have to be told.
Again? I find it fascinating and rather humorous that all you lot seem to be able to come up with is ancient news from a century and a half ago. Could it perhaps be that you have no evidence of any racist behavior from the Democratic party this century?
specman · 51-55, M
@CorvusBlackthorne Did you even read the article? Cruz stated how the Democrats were slighting Black People.
@specman I do not care about the opinion of Cancun Cruz.
It's pretty sad when you have to go back 150 years to find a time when Republicans weren't total pieces of shit.

What Cruz is forgetting is that the KKK was founded by conservatives, just as its current members are also conservatives. They just switched parties after the Civil Rights Act was passed.
@specman More like it's an excuse for white racists to whine about how "oppressed" they are because someone reminded them that slavery was once a thing.

@specman That's true, however, slavery is part of history, and kids should be taught about it.
JSul3 · 70-79
Caribbean Cruz is correct....but it was 'conservatives' and former Confederates like Nathan Bedford Forest that began the KKK under the Democratic Party banner, enacted the Jim Crow laws, etc.

Then when LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Acts, these 'conservatives' jumped to the GOP. Soon came Nixon's southern strategy and the 'conservative' south became GOP and remain so today. The GOP are the party of voter suppression and taking away rights fought for decades and are now 100% the Party of Trump, where no word of dissent is allowed and those who do not bow down and pledge total loyalty to Dear Leader Trump, are attacked and quickly dispatched.

The Democratic Party still believes in democracy and the Constitution and the rule of law.

specman · 51-55, M
@anythingoes477 It was my information hence the fact that it had been cut and pasted. Besides who said my information was not going to be cut and pasted.
@specman Then you contridicted YOURSELF to make what you thought was a point, That's even worse.
specman · 51-55, M
@anythingoes477 how did I contradict myself?
beckyromero · 36-40, F
They're both fools for engaging in this spat on Twitter.

If a news organzation wants to sponsor a sit-down one hour discussion on the topic betweem them, it would be worth watching.

But not spitting out sound bites on Twitter.
RedBaron · M
Not her democratic party. It was the southern wing that eventually morphed into Republicans in the Nixon years.
Cowboybob · M
And nothing has changed in the past 160 years?
eli1601 · 70-79, M
@Cowboybob The dems still want to divide people by race.
@eli1601 When last I checked, that was the Republicans.
specman · 51-55, M
@Cowboybob Did you even read the article? Cruz stated how the Democrats were slighting Black People.
I’ll bet the $24M I’ve already made as congresswoman.. that I will fight republican corruption 100%

SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
