Is the US finally shaking off its God delusion ?

"When one person suffers from a delusion it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called religion." (Robert Pirsig)

Still very high. America is also one of the most religious modern countries.
LegendofPeza · 56-60, M
@JimboSaturn There's definitely a trend though.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@LegendofPeza Hopefully. I think it may be a trend around the world.
SW-User
@LegendofPeza I hope it is a trend, but you'd never know it with the resurgent Christian Nationalists like MTG
Not enough, not fast enough. Christian nationalists are desperately trying to combine their religion into our government.
@TheRascallyOne Lol! Aren't you silly, posting a bias-prejudiced question revealing your orientation as a pretend slam.
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
@TheRascallyOne You are looking for a fight. You are not worth the time. You are engaging in troll behavior.

One sub-section of the Poll reveals that just four in 10 believe God can intervene on people's behalf.

Which gives another slant on the state of belief in the US.

Other Polls show that just 20% of Americans believe that the Bible is the literal Word of God.

Wow.. the percentage may not be that far from that in the Middle East 🥔😅 But only if people did not fear saying their real opinion about religion in surveys.
It's kind of like piss that sits around for a while. There might be less of it over time but what is left stinks even worse than it did before.

Anyway, I'm out of here. Pretty soon the "true Christians" will arrive and I'd like to be as far away as possible.

😀
Here is another poll, Pew - a Conservative well regarded entity:

Everyone worships something. I hope they find someone or something worthwhile to worship.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@JPWhoo I'm not tough or super independent.
JPWhoo · 36-40, M
@JimboSaturn Of course you are. You don’t worship anything like the rest of us fools, you don’t serve anyone like all of us weaklings do. In times of crisis you don’t depend on anyone or anything else to get you through it except yourself.
@JPWhoo Triggered.
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
Believe in something or fall for anything
LegendofPeza · 56-60, M
@TheRascallyOne I'm assuming you are misquoting Malcolm X , which is bad enough. But to try then and use it as a some kind of religious proverb is laughable.
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
@LegendofPeza I'm not quoting anybody
@LegendofPeza "If You Don’t Stand for Something, You’ll Fall for Anything. " Looks like it's an American adage that is often asserted in church sermons.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
With the increased madness and immoral behavior, I say Yes, the U.S. is shaking off it's God "delusion"
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
They don’t believe in God, but they believe in a dichotomy called the church.
SubstantialKick · 36-40, M
I don't see that happening unless the Bible Belt starts to fade.
Iwillwait · M
That's heartbreaking to read. 🥺
smiler2012 · 56-60
{@rodionromanovitch] 😆so by that it suggest trump who certainly doubt was delusional is insane . 😆bring the strait jacket and the men in the white coats from the funny farm dons gone tonto
LegendofPeza · 56-60, M
@smiler2012 That jackass , and those charlatans who laid their hands upon him , probably have a lot to do with it.
The existence of God is never a delusion. It is a firm, Strong faith and whether God is existing or not is still a matter of belief or faith. To me God does exist as a Christian .
@Evolved Faith is indoctrination, nothing more than stubbornness covered regression.
Depends on who you ask., and the diety they believe in here in the US where there are many practicing religious followers.
The USA is dark between the ears forever, now. NATO is free for them.
@Roundandroundwego Nato is part of USA
@Evolved okay! Whatever. Democracy certainly has no influence over NATO. You certainly win!

I trust in the Almighty and so do all 34(and counting) of my Trump dolls. Go Murka!
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
onto covid/vaccine delusion.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
I legitimately don't get how the US got so inextricably Christian.
LegendofPeza · 56-60, M
@LordShadowfire Well this guy called Trump came along and he figured the quickest way to wrap up an entire demographic was to pretend he was one of them and give them everything they wanted.
