MAGA lads and ladies...what would it look like for American politics if the Jan6th terrorists had succeeded in overturning the results of the election

Perhaps you object to the characterization of "terrorist" and we can discuss that as well if you like, but would you have liked to set a president wherein an election could be denied by the losing party?
Would you want it to be a realistic matter of course for the losing party to use force to set up their chosen candidate as President?

Picture the events that caused the BLM protests (cops arresting and killing an innocent member of the public) and amplify and multiply that event to instanses across the country will little or no response from the President in support of the victim.

Picture the police being defunded and replaced with marauding gangs of armed white surpremacists with very little restrictions placed on their actions.

@Spotpot Let’s just say I’m glad it didn’t go that way.

So, the big lie was that there was an attempt to overturn the results. In reality, It was a demand that the grossly “hinky” results be examined. No court looked at the evidence. All the court proceeding rejected the question on procedural grounds.

It is beyond question that the 2020 election was fraught with cheating. 2022 as well.
@Pikachu I think at this stage, we both know what @redredred is going to do. The same thing he always does:
@LordShadowfire

lol yeah he got real salty when i dared to ask him for a source.
Apparently by "happy to educate" he means "happy to vaguely reference conspiracy theories".

Well, people like the right-wing of the SW politics section would be in charge of America forever and there would be nothing to worry about.

@Burnley123 You finally figured that out, good for you, you are learning
QueenofVenus · 36-40, F
I voted for Trump in 2016. Because I flip a coin to determine who I vote for.
@QueenofVenus

lol that's irresponsible.

You find those hanging chads yet?
@sunsporter1649

Just wondering if sporty will ever be able to answer a question head on🤔
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Pikachu So you're still looking for those hanging chads, so amusing
@sunsporter1649

So you're still afraid to answer a simple question like a man, so sad...
The funny thing is, they feel like they would, but they don't realize we could do the same if that were to become precedent.
@Pikachu I don't think even all the members of the losing party would want to see that. Only the dumbest members of the losing political party would want to see the results changed by violence, because that would destroy this country. When Donald Trump won, you didn't hear me calling for them to stop the count, or marching on the places where they counted the votes to terrorize the vote counters. I didn't like the outcome but I respected the process.
@LordShadowfire

Yeah that seems to me one of the very dangerous things that Trump has introduced.
Now if you lose an election you can declare that it was rigged ?
That's the path to civil war.
@Pikachu I know, right? Now if Joe Biden loses the 2024 election, we can just cry and stomp our feet and storm the Capitol building with pitchforks and torches, and it's all good.
