"I always told people I was Conservative, but I'm not in a bad mood about it!"

Great line by former VP Mike Pence at his Town Hall meeting on CNN last night about the need for a return to civility in our politics.

Really hypocritical coming from a man who wants to take away our civil rights. Where's the civility in that?

Pence = traitor

The people who should most be ashamed of themselves seldom are.
I'm not really a fan of Pence's brand of Conservatism, but there's room for dialog and compromise, as opposed to other stuff floating through the Republican party.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@MistyCee Totally agree. His is a much more level headed view on where he would like things to go.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@MistyCee Not a fan of his brand of Conservatism either, nor his constant wrapping it in religious terms. But it is far better than that of the MAGA crowd, and when push comes to shove he lives up to his oath to the Constitution and is willing to attempt constructive dialogue.
Pence spent 4 years avoiding questions but always coming out on the side of a Sociopath. Pence is a massive hypocrite that would do anything to get a seat at the lobby money table again.

@Pitchblue @Graylight@DunningKruger We have no way of knowing what advice/counsel he gave behind closed-doors, and he may be a hypocrite voicing his dissent now that he no longer owes any allegiance to the office of POTUS as VP (although that is more than the flip-flopping Republican leaders in Congress have done). But when the day came where he HAD to choose sides, he chose to live up to his oath of office. And while I don't care for most of his policy positions, he himself has been pretty civil in discussing them once you push aside the religious wrappings he tends to piously tout as if we are a theocracy.

{@dancingtongue] personally i have no issue with you being a conservative so i assume you are a republican. your sort are seeing your party been destroyed inwardly by trump and m.a.g.a and his core obedience cult elite base.trump has brought the worst out in people in american politics sadly and made it nasty

Evil hides behind smiles just as easily as behind snarls.
Just as worthless as trump.

Who is worse. the devil, or his followers? ..His followers, because the devil can't help himself. Fuck Pence. Fuck every last piece of shit that voted for Trump.
@SW-User Religous fanatics like Pence believe all the imoral things he's done are justified if the end result is religious leaders controlling the country. Right now the Evangelicals are saying they were mislead by Trump. They didn't care about the racism, misogamy, child rape, insurrection, stealing nuclear secrets but when they see he can't win they say they were mislead.

As an outsider I have to say the outcome of the 2022 election gave hope that civility and reason will play a more dominant role in America in the future!

@helenS Gen Z helped the Democrats win in the midterms. The younger generation are not as tribal. They've gone to school with people of all races. They have also grown up with active shooter drills because of Republican's gun laws. The Republicans are scared shitty of young voters. They want to take their right to vote away until they are 21. A delay they hope will help them completely take over the Justice System in the US.
pence and pompao think their a chance..

@Carissimi Trump and the constitution are two opposite things.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
Really? Would you list where Trump violated the Constitution. Now list where the Democrats and Biden have done so. @Spotpot
