Candidate Biden said, "Trump has no plan on covid, I do!" Now President Biden said,"There is no federal solution".

How do his supporters spin that one???

@StrawberryMilkshake I think you misread, misunderstood or some other reason. They mostly said their taxes went down due to his policies. I would be interestec to see where you got your information.

“220,000 Americans dead,” biden said during the Oct. 22 debate. “You hear nothing else I say tonight, hear this. Anyone who … is responsible for that many deaths should not remain as president of the United States of America.”

401,595 Americans have died from COVID-19 since President Joe Biden took office and promised to "shut down the virus."

@DownTheStreet That's the problem. Nobody IS running the show.
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
@sunsporter1649 and after all he's done, he's united everyone🙂
Go Brandon!
And before I hear any bs. About it, he agrees🤦‍♂️

It really is not a case of Biden changing his mind. It would really help to present this in the right context, but that's not something rebels without a clue are interested in doing.

When he made that statement in 2020, the Federal government, under the Orange Benito, was busy trying to convince people that there is no virus, and was not interested in helping the States. When Mike Pence came to WA State at the outset of the pandemic, Trump told him "not to be nice to Governor Inslee", because he does not like Trump.

The President's statement today, needs to be presented in full, and in full context.

He pledged to support governors struggling with the omicron variant of Covid-19, but acknowledged the states will need to take the lead in controlling the pandemic.

Speaking just before his meeting with some of the governors, he said: "There is no federal solution. This gets solved at a state level." For the clueless, this means "we have a Constitution, and I've been doing everything I possibly can, to educate the States on how important it is to turn this around. Have you seen how many cartoons the right wing media has of Biden knocking on doors, asking people to get vaccinated?"

The president is concerned that federal initiatives to contain the virus can’t be effective without states’ help. The comments are also designed to put added pressure on governors to take a greater role in trying to control the disease. We are a federation, not a dictatorship.

@fanuc2013
Wow! You really know how to twist things to fit your agenda!
It's called looking at the full picture, and not just the single sound bite that fits your agenda. You should try it sometime. And speaking of twisting things to fit an agenda, take a long look in the mirror.

@Northwest I think you're going to be really disappointed in the results of the 2022 mid-terms, and again in 2024!

And this response has absolutely NOTHING to do with the thread you started, but I guess when you have no point, the only thing to do is acknowledge it, but you change topic.

Yeah and he stated before and after he got in office that the he and the Feds would fix everything to do with Chinese Pelosi Flu and promised everyone would get tested if they want it. Now has put it all on the individual states to handle. I feel sorry for the pathetic liberal TDS suffers that have been brainwashed by liberal education and fake news as their stupidity knows no bounds.
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
He promised the American people everything we wanted to hear, but it was just to get votes.
Now the country is in the worst shape.
Maybe he should call Trump for some advise !

They still blame Trump. That's how dumb Biden supporters are.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Coolkid77 417,366 Americans have died from COVID-19 since President Joe Biden took office. He promised the American people he would "shut down the virus."
Coolkid77 · 31-35, M
@sunsporter1649 Exactly and more people are testing positive for covid than in 2020. More covid deaths too under Biden.
He had no clue then. It was rhetoric and he played on many peoples’ fears of covid to work it against Trump..His most recent statement shows he’s still got no clue, nor do his handlers. He needs to let Fauci and the CDC deal with this as far as relaying information to the public. Stating what he did, can’t be helping him in any way, given his history on this.
@Graylight your exalted failure in chief. Exuding confidence? I think not

“The president keeps telling us the virus is going to disappear. He keeps waiting for a miracle. I have news for him: No miracle is coming. After all this time, the president still does not have a plan,” Biden said. Well, I do. If I’m your president, on Day 1, we’ll implement the national strategy I’ve been laying out since March.”

Trump had no plan.
Biden laid out a point-by-point plan. Not a cure, a plan.
Biden never said there was some "federal solution." He said he had a plan.

If you're mad about Covid, tend to your own safety and hygiene. If you're mad at Biden, I'd suggest reading actual news from time to time.
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
@Graylight He flat out said he had a plan to "shut down" the virus. What's the plan? He also said back when there were 200,000 dead that any president that presided over thaf many deaths is not worthy of holding office and should resign. Well, there have been well over 200,000 on his watch, and no end in sight! Is Biden going to resign? I think not!

Who are his supporters?

Like 90 percent of people who voted for him just didn't want a big man baby in the oval office.

I don't know a single person who likes biden and would choose him against real opponents.
SW-User
@SW-User just making sure it's understood I'm a Bernie fan lol I don't mean I wish a different republican had run.
If anyone actually read Biden's plan prior to the election, they'd see it was the same as Trump's. But Biden promised to stop covid. How stupid! People cannot simply stop a virus 😆
Muldoon · 56-60, M
His supporters spin it to Trump and say someday Trump will be in prison, someday. Someday!
@Muldoon the Feds couldn’t even fabricate a crime and make it stick..

but I’m sure they’ll find something any day now 😁👍

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout how many Trump lawsuits have been lost or tossed?
It hasn't helped Biden's approval ratings any.

They will continue to look to their self proclaimed "experts" and regurgitate whatever they are told by these people...I expect more blame on "antivaxxers" since they seem loathe to admit the vaccine is not working as promised.
plankter979 · 51-55, M
under our system a lot of this is up to the states. As long as there are opportunistic fascist jackasses like DeSantis and Abbott around, people are going to keep dying.
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
@plankter979 I agree with your first sentence, the rest of your comment is obviously biased
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
@Coolkid77 Absolutely right!
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
@plankter979 Did you notice the story of AOC going to Florida and running around maskless while promoting mask mandates in her home state?
CestManan · 46-50, F
Biden needs to be more concerned with Alzheimer's than with covid.
Spotpot · 41-45, M
@CestManan Thats probobly also true for Trump by 2024.

I always find it hilarious that the people who refuse to wear masks, refuse to respect social distancing, and refuse to get vaccinated end up making a fuss when the plans to stop COVID aren't working. There's just zero self-awareness there.

There was a federal solution, but people staunchly refused to go along with it. Some people believe that freedom should be free, so now someone else has to pay the costs. I'm all for it though. The ways historical pandemics have ended were after massive waves of death, and humans are long over-due for a good culling
SW-User
@TinyViolins Australia is an interesting case study. High rates of vaccination and very little herd immunity. Watch this space I guess 🤞
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@SW-User Australia had been managing the pandemic a lot better than most countries. One of the lowest case and death rates in the world, but that was before Omicron. At this point, nobody really knows what's going to happen. I'm still rooting for massive waves of death
I supported Joe Biden in the primary before South Carolina, good man!
@Muldoon
I was trying to give you a chance to take that back so people didn’t think you voted for trump. That loser will be going on trial pretty soon here.
Muldoon · 56-60, M
@SomeLikeItHot That's what I hear, someday. Someday!

Looks like a good sign to me!

He has no credibility left except with those who will follow him anywhere…no one is listening
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
On covid he has ALWAYS said that "he believes in the science" and the science actually does change. That has always been the "plan"!

It's those that do not want "change", that refuse to accept the "science"!

Trump refused to accept the science! That is not a plan! That is ignorance of science.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
[ @acpguy] insults don't do any points of yours any good!

Just saying. 🤷‍♂️ The down vote is noted.
