Hey, so Republicans. Real quick, why are you more interested in Floyd's criminal history than Chauvin's?

18 complaints in 19 years.
Only two led to disciplinary action.
The federal government was going to begin investigating this thug with a badge for his violent history, when he murdered George Floyd!
Underling Q should be. How did he become a cop with a history..
shouldn’t upper management be fired?

[@327405,TheOneyouwerewarnedabout] good point. Yes, that too.
Carla · 61-69, F
See now...slimy cops not only skate in their departments, when their bad acts and ineptitude become too much to overlook, they all too often find employment elsewhere. As a cop.
I fear little will change though, until the culture changes.

[@548295,Carla] You are so right about the Chauvins and the enablers. I have to believe we have a chance at making things a bit better. I am glad we have the Dems in office right now, looking to pass legislation to make some changes stick.

It's heartbreaking what some young people see in their everyday lives. I actually think about that and wonder how on earth are they going to be as adults.

Trauma does one of two things to you, especially if you don't have the luxury to treatment for it. God help us.
Carla · 61-69, F
[@711251,Peapod] no..we are left to help us. I just dont know if there is enough of we to do the thing.
Peapod · 56-60, F
[@548295,Carla] I feel you on that one. 😞
Peapod · 56-60, F
Imagine that one. George Floyd struggled with his demons, but he sure tried to comply, even with three thugs sitting on top of him!
[@711251,Peapod] Oh I didn't see that one -but the video shows only one
Peapod · 56-60, F
[@760047,MarmeeMarch] Understood. I think a lot of people didn't see all the videos from the street cameras. Even worse were the images that they played in court from the body cameras from those other two officers. One of them even asked he could roll George Floyd to his side when he figured out he wasn't breathing. Chauvin actually answered no to that request!
[@711251,Peapod] I'm sure Dr.Chauvin is going to have plenty of time in prison to be rolled over. AAAH AHH AHAHHHHHHH A AHHHHHA A A HAHAHH AHH HHHAHAHHHAH HHAAAAH AHAHHHHHHAH AHHHAHAH

Not all Republicans are disgusting racists, but quite a few of them are.
[@1164612,LoveTriumphsOverHate] blocked for stupidity
JustcallmeNameless · 36-40, F
He had 18 complaints and was only disciplined 2 times. He was awarded a Medal of Commendation in 2008 after he disarmed a man during one of his nightclub security shifts. He was even recommended for a Medal of Valor in 2006 in connection with the fatal police shooting of Wayne Reyes who had stabbed 2 people.

Every cop gets complaints

[@328496,bijouxbroussard] yep something has to change agreed

[@1201381,ShadowfireTheSarcastic]
I guess it depends on the neighborhood you live in, or the amount of melanin I your skin.
This is true! We have the best cops on the planet in my neighborhood.

I can think of a few times where things could have ended very differently for some I know of that had an encounter while angry and/or intoxicated. I have witnessed what professional de-escalation looks like. Good cops do exist. I just wish guys like George Floyd could have them too.
[@711251,Peapod] Exactly.
carpediem · 61-69, M
Tell us about his crimes. I really don't know what they were
[@112526,carpediem] I haven't found specifics yet.
carpediem · 61-69, M
[@1201381,ShadowfireTheSarcastic] well I appreciate your follow-up
independentone · 61-69, M
18 reported complaints of abuse, how many were there that were not reported?
TheLastWord · 22-25, M
I definitely don't think the police can do no wrong. And while Chauvin was wrong, the jury was definitely influenced by the angry mob that was gathered and ready to burn down their homes and businesses if they didn't say "guilty".
monte3 · 70-79, M
[@1201426,JoeyHabib] since you admit that Chauvin was “wrong” and criminally wrong in fact in truth, the jury simply did its duty. 🤷‍♂️ How do YOU know what the jury was influenced by?
monte3 · 70-79, M
Either side has a narrative. Ours is better served by a Blackman killed by a murderous white cop, theirs by a black thug justifiably being killed by a law and order living white cop. 🤷‍♂️
Dang complexity!
[@744413,monte3] truth is both were shit people and things like this happen when 2 shit people interact
Cierzo · M
Media have hidden it, falsely presenting him as a saint and martyr.
How many crimes did he commit ?
DownTheStreet · 51-55, M
Are you trying to help?
[@325552,DownTheStreet] Not at the moment.
