Hey, so Republicans. Real quick, why are you more interested in Floyd's criminal history than Chauvin's?

18 complaints in 19 years.
Only two led to disciplinary action.
The federal government was going to begin investigating this thug with a badge for his violent history, when he murdered George Floyd!

See now...slimy cops not only skate in their departments, when their bad acts and ineptitude become too much to overlook, they all too often find employment elsewhere. As a cop.
I fear little will change though, until the culture changes.
@Carla Did you read that thing from "Officer A. Cab"? I don't necessarily agree with his ultimate conclusion, but he describes a lot of things about the police academy that I'm curious about. Like how "sheep" (civilians) are too dumb to differentiate between "wolves" (criminals) and "sheepdogs" (cops). Is that true?

@Carla That is exactly how they used to treat Catholic priests that had complaints against them. They would simply get reassigned to molest again.

@Peapod exactly. They are in cocoons. Protected in most cases. If this thing hadn't been filmed, chauvin would be on patrol right this minute.

@LordShadowfire I dont know. I havent read that.
I do know that there are good cops. And there are bad ones. It's the idea that the bad ones deserve the same respect from peers and the public that the good ones do.

@Carla That young girl that filmed the whole thing had courage. I cannot imagine her trauma though on having to see that up close and personal.

How scary to think how many Chauvins have done such horrific things with a badge on and never blinked an eye.

After watching the entire trial, it was obvious to me that Chauvin had ice water coursing through his veins. He was empty with no remorse.

@Peapod this has been going on, since forever. It kills me that we are still in this place. The only reason we move so slowly forward is because we have the chauvins and their enablers (especially the enablers) pushing so hard to move us back.

And that girl, and her nine year old companion, I feel certain, are changed.
Unfortunately, too many kids in these urban neighborhoods witness brutal things far too often.

@Carla You are so right about the Chauvins and the enablers. I have to believe we have a chance at making things a bit better. I am glad we have the Dems in office right now, looking to pass legislation to make some changes stick.

It's heartbreaking what some young people see in their everyday lives. I actually think about that and wonder how on earth are they going to be as adults.

Trauma does one of two things to you, especially if you don't have the luxury to treatment for it. God help us.

@Peapod no..we are left to help us. I just dont know if there is enough of we to do the thing.

@Carla I feel you on that one. 😞
