Hey, so Republicans. Real quick, why are you more interested in Floyd's criminal history than Chauvin's?

18 complaints in 19 years.
Only two led to disciplinary action.
The federal government was going to begin investigating this thug with a badge for his violent history, when he murdered George Floyd!

Every cop gets complaints

@JS1992 How many people are too afraid to complain?
JS1992 · 31-35, M
@LordShadowfire if you had something to truly complain about it wouldn’t be hard at all
LordShadowfire · 46-50
@JS1992 Really. Just walk into the police station and tell the cops what their fellow cop did?
JS1992 · 31-35, M
@LordShadowfire yah happens all the time. Or call, email
LordShadowfire · 46-50
@JS1992 I guess it depends on the neighborhood you live in, or the amount of melanin I your skin.
JS1992 · 31-35, M
@JS1992 Doesn’t mean it would be taken seriously. People who are killed by the police, even if unarmed, are judged by the mainstream culture as “worthy of life” or not. Even a police officer with several complaints is often given a certain amount of leeway—by the mainstream—because they can’t relate.

This is true! We have the best cops on the planet in my neighborhood.

I can think of a few times where things could have ended very differently for some I know of that had an encounter while angry and/or intoxicated. I have witnessed what professional de-escalation looks like. Good cops do exist. I just wish guys like George Floyd could have them too.

@Peapod Exactly.
