Why are those that are vaccinated getting angry at those that aren't or wont?

You're protected right?
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I don’t care, people can do what they want to do but I do think when this pandemic is over and somebody gets sick with it because they opted out of the vaccine that they should foot their own bills.
SW-User
@Keepitsimple and I totally respect your opinion. If one feels more safe with the vaccine, each to their own, but I see risk on the other end of the table and, having bad experiences with past vaccines, I would rather die from COVID than have a life long side effect, if I catch COVID I’ll just go out in the Bush and let nature decide my fate.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I hope you don’t get it. My husband had it and was fine but we know know 2 people who died from it. @SW-User
SW-User
I never had it, but been tested for it, and just before I went home I lived out in the bush, with no food and only had a couple of bottles of water, I stayed there for two days and when I got the text saying I was negative, I was good to go home lol. But if I was tested positive I would of stayed until I died or recovered and no longer contagious.@Keepitsimple

I will give you a simple science story. Viruses mutate, and when people do not get vaccinated, they contribute to the spread of various versions of the virus. Eventually, the mutations may become resistant to the vaccines, and they will infect those who have been vaccinated.

Why is it so difficult for you to understand this simple fact?
Northwest · M
@itsoeasy
i had a flu jab this year for first time, asi had flu last year and lost a weeks wages
You're a mere mortal, just like myself. Unlike the OP, who's a magnificent flu-resistance humans specimen.
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
@Northwest But when viruses mutate they are less deadly, the viruses become weaker... even though they can be spread more easily.
Northwest · M
@Jimmy2016 Tell that to the new more deadly variant that’s ripping through Brazil
curiosi · 61-69, F
Fear, in order for them to feel right about their decision they need everyone to agree with them. If vaccines work then they shouldn't care if I am not. "Herd immunity" is a BS line that was made up in order to force others into submission.
What a person does with their own body is their choice and none of my business. And what I do with mine is none of their business.
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F
People without insurance who get hospitalized with Covid are a tax burden on the rest if us. We do have some obligation to the rest of our society. @SheCallsMeCrushDaddy
And people who don’t take care of themselves are a burden on society. People who refuse to work are a burden to society, people who smoke and abuse drugs and get sick as a consequence are a burden on society. It never ends. @FlowersNButterflies
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F
You want something that you will never have. Everybidy has blind spots. @SheCallsMeCrushDaddy
I have not decided yet. Through the years I have seen more than a few medicines that were promised to make some illnesses go away, stay away, miracle drugs, take this, take these....ten years later we are told to NOT take them because they could cause cancer or some other horrible thing. We get so many mixed messages right now...recently human error caused the loss/contamination of a huge supply of this stuff. I do not trust anything I hear about it. If I choose to not get it...I will avoid other humans and wear the mask everywhere I go. Till I die of natural causes or die in a fiery crash.
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F
@fernie2 I have read that doctors over-treat many conditions, and that they would not all themselves agree to the treatments they give us. They fear medical malpractice lawsuits, and feel pressured by patients to do more, even when the right thing to do is to do less. Also, they are encouraged to bring home the bacon by their corporate employers.

Then there is the "iatrogenic effect" where the treatment is worse than the disease.

In my illness, many people in the support group do anything their doctors tell them to do, and it is often bad medical advice. They feel safer that way than to do any research themselves, to prolong their own well being. They just want a prescription to make it all go away, but it is genetic, has no treatment or cure and their doctors just make them worse. They have false hope as their condition is being worsened!

My sister (and other siblings) have the same genetic mutation. One sister was put on 13 different medications by malpractice, 5 of which were highly interactive, 5 more which were moderately interactive, 3 neutral. She suffered neuro toxicity, and when I found out through a pharmacist the damages, she got a new doctor who immediately started weaning her off all those unnecessary and interacting drugs. Too late, she had to go into a nursing home at 58 years old.

I am VERY wary.
@FlowersNButterflies A nursing home at 58!!!! Appalling! I spent years at my last job trying to free people just like your sister..from nursing homes they DID NOT need to be in! So sorry
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F
@fernie2 Yes, thank you. Very sad! She can't talk or walk anymore, at 63. Doctors don't apologize, and even if they did, we have to live out their mistakes. Are you an advocate for the disabled?

Our condition causes (usually small) repetitive strokes, which is why I have had repeated neuro psych evaluations (and MRI's). This is how I know exactly what my IQ comes in at, which another chatter thinks is a "brag". Fact is, we are NOT all alike in the world, and that is a simple truth. Also, that higher IQ can see lower IQ, but not vice versa. Like Dunning Krueger Syndrome. It is not a put down. High IQ does not guarantee a happier life.

My condition causes sleep disorders (strokes usually do), and I talked to my geriatrician to see if I could get a sleep medication. She wanted to put me on Lexapro or Trazadone, anti-depressants. Both have a side effect of heart rhythm disorder. I have multiple heart issues and she has the records, including a 30-day Holter monitor proving I have heart rhythm disorder! I reminded her, and she got a bit snippy. Told me to take Xanax at night. Smdh...

I want them to take good care of me, and not end up in a nursing home at all. I choose VSED. Nothing wrong with wanting to survive as well as possible as long as possible.

I am third generation with this genetic mutation, and it is now in the 4th and 5th, but the 5th can have IVF and take it out of the family tree because we know exactly where the mutation is in our DNA.

I'm getting stab #2 this morning. Only because my wife is high risk due to health concerns. But if someone else chooses not to, why would I care? I'll be protected right? This entire debate is nonsense. Some people love telling others how to live. As if they are in some way superior beings based on their beliefs.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@SW-User Thanks. Pretty simple really. Stab 2 is complete
carpediem · 61-69, M
@FlowersNButterflies Exactly. Sometimes is looks like sh1t
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F
@carpediem Too often.
@SW-User We are SO not superior. Animals are waaay more civilized than humans
SW-User
@fernie2 I totally agree.
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F
@SW-User Dentists working in your face must wear a mask.
my question is this about the vaccine, why do they say u must still wear a mask if you are vaccinated?
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@undetermined I wonder about that also. When I go for my second shot on Friday I still have to wear my mask afterwards. I don’t think anybody knows anything for sure right now.
maybe because they dont know if it will work. but they must have good enough reason to think it will as its not free. @undetermined
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@undetermined The only word you have on the 'success' of these vaccines are the governments who did minimal testing, and the word of the drug companies themselves !

Those tests were conducted on specific groups in specific places so their success rate when rolled-out on a worldwide scale may vary .

THUS it makes sense to continue using basic cleanliness and mask wearing for the time being.

I don't get the anti-mask wearing thing !
It's the simplest thing in the world to do but it's THAT you seem to object to rather than the sums spent on having to buy your own ! as ALL folk in the UK have had to do for the past year !

@MrBrownstoneyes 53 ,instead of 900, funnyhow oyu like g nr but have no compassion,
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@itsoeasy I guess the masks don’t work.
Because they “ think” that the vaccines are the panacea, following the science and can’t see beyond that.
Problem is the vaccines are far too new to
Know the long range effects, but you have people terrified over Covid and will readily take the shots, IMO pushed by people like Fauci and politicians who are enamored with power mandating lockdowns, school closures, mask mandates, causing unbelievable damage on so many levels.
People desire to be vaccinated, that is their choice.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@soar2newhighs
IMO pushed by people like Fauci and politicians who are enamored with power mandating lockdowns, school closures, mask mandates
That’s pretty funny, because vaccinating ourselves to herd immunity will let us do away with those kinds of pandemic measures. What an odd conspiracy.
@QuixoticSoul Not everyone buys into Herd immunity.

@soar2newhighs Not everyone buys into round earth either.

cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@itsoeasy this website is based in the USA
I don't care if a person gets vaccinated or doesn't it is there choice but I do get pissed at people lying about things saying dumb shit like a million people who have taken the vaccine have died ftom.it and crap like that thats bullshit if a person doesn't want to take the vaccine then don't but don't be stupid and make up bullshit lies about it
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
Because people not getting vaccinated unnecessary prolongs all of this nonsense, and puts those who can’t be vaccinated at risk. Same story, really - herd immunity has widespread social benefits.
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F

@Confined Really?! Lol! I found out I have gall stones by ultrasound.
Confined · 56-60, M
@FlowersNButterflies why did you get an ultrasound? Every person in my family has had gall stones. My mom was like you probably have gall stones, the hospital confirmed.
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, F
@Confined Pain episodes. My mother had gallstones, and died on the operating table while having it removed, but was resuscitated. She had a Near Death Experience. I have not had mine removed. Just changed my diet to no fried food, less fatty food, and when pain hits, I drink apple cider vinegar with honey (nasty stuff). I started taking daily gummies of apple cider vinegar and have not had much trouble since.
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
🤔...I'm going to get vaccinated, only for one reason and I'm not going to say because it doesn't matter but I don't care if someone doesn't want to get vaccinated...It's their right!!!! I don't care if someone doesn't wear a mask.... I went to a couple of weddings in 2020 along with 4-5 parties and no one including myself were wearing masks or social distancing. I don't care...Because wearing masks and social distancing doesn't work....
@Jimmy2016 "Because wearing masks and social distancing doesn't work...." You had me right up until that last sentence Jimmy. It's selfish and irresponsible to do neither of those things.
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
@fernie2 Well, I always wear a Mask in public and at work. I even wear surgical gloves when I go into stores, I think I'm the only one that's does when I'm in a store... and sometime I wear my rap around sun glasses. But that being said the SARS-CoV-2 virus can linger in the air for up to 8 minutes as some studies have suggested, so when you are walking in a store or at work, you are going to walk through air space that could contain the virus passed from someone in that air space from 8 minutes ago. This is the way I look at it.
Besides a person needs to be wearing safety glasses along with a mask... I never see that.
The only thing that is 100% safe from the virus is a self contained full face mask that has it's own air supply. It must cover the entire face. And if you are male, you can't have a beard...
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@fernie2 It’s not
In order for any vaccination to be successful you need a large perentage of the population to be vaccinated to ensure herd immunity.
@SW-User he’s so running that state on China buck$.

MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@Confined Love this.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout The Nazi said say a lie big enough and long enough people will believe it
Some of the ignorance displayed on this post is staggering. Over a year since we were first made aware of the virus and some people seem to have learned absolutely nothing. If anyone makes the decision not to get vaccinated, of course it’s their right to choose, but I wish they could get it through their heads that the consequences reach far wider than just themselves.
@TopOfTheWorld So, any person who decides to not get the shot is not doing it because they are all braindead? There are reasonable arguments against getting the shot. You're talking about the insane trump supporters, not the average sane person
@fernie2 all braindead? No. The evidence so far makes a compelling case as far as I can see that vaccination cuts infection rates and the spread of the virus. I just think many people who don’t want to be vaccinated either ignore, or are unaware of, that.

Vaccination, masks, distancing all reduce the risk of spread. The more people that get vaccinated, the faster this world gets back to normal. It’s not about me, it’s about helping each other out...
itsoeasy · 56-60, M
theones who odnt vaccinate will spread disease round and kill peop;le
@itsoeasy that goes with the assumption that get it.

ah shit I read the question wrong. oh well
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
People aren't angry so much as worried !

They're worried that some who are 'anti-vaccination' appear to be so because of the daftest of reasons !

They're not 'Anti-Vaccination' because they personally have experience of something incredibly wrong with a vaccine.
They sound (when you question them on it) to be 'Anti-government-telling-me-what-to-do' rather than anything else !

And if THAT'S your only objection, do you realize how you could be carrying Covid-19 and Not even realize just how much potential danger you could put others in ?

I can understand it a little bit. I've been vaccinated, and I don't care what other people do, but I guess the reason I understand it is because I am still angry at the elitist anti-vaxxers in New York who actually sued the schools because they didn't want to vaccinate their children, thinking, ignorantly and incorrectly, that measles vaccines cause autism. It's just not true. What IS true is that children can die of the measles.

What is also true, is that if their children go to school unvaccinated, they can carry and spread measles...or give it to adults who haven't been vaccinated. Males who haven't had measles can be sterilized by it.

And then this little nest of anti-vaxxers actually DID infect an adult, who travelled from New York to MY town...and ate at MY favorite burger joint...and ALL the staff and patrons who were in the place at the time had to be notified that they had been exposed.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Great question.
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
Because many of the ones who won't get the vaccine are the same idiots who think that the virus isn't serious or a hoax.
i dont know if im protected. i dont know if theres a guarantee. i just didnt think it would hurt me to get it.

The vaccination wont stop you from getting covid and make it a bit harder for covid. Herd protection is what will be the best protection. But there are yahoos who don't understand that.

Not how it works necessarily. None of these are 100% effective and there's no long-term data.
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
@Graylight Plus having the vaxxed have a go at the unvaxxed serves the purpose of pushing uptake of the experimental unproven vaccines and perpetuating the agenda of sovereign governments that are weaponising their response to the Covid cult situation.
