You all can hate ACA(Obamacare) all ya want but let me point out something you all fail to remember. 2015 & 2016...Trump says he is going to replace ACA with better cheaper insurance and drug insurance. It is almost 4 yrs into his first term and we are still waiting. So before you blast ACA maybe you ought to blast Trump for not doing what he promised.
Now BlueMetalChick...if your heart problems are that bad you would be placed on disability which means now the government is paying for your care under Medicaid.
@PTCdresser57 I'm not from the USA. I'm a war refugee from Yemen. I was granted asylum. I have a deteriorating heart condition because I suffered a severe electric shock when j was a preteen.
Exactly. I wish everyone would take the time to educate theirselves to what you mentioned. Then perhaps we’d have a chance of electing people who would actually put a policy like that into effect. @BlueMetalChick
Soooooooooo I am guessing that the people in the other countries spend money on health care on people that do not have jobs ? Cause that is prob the reason why people dont have the HC in the USA - job loss.... And it's temp....
@IstillmissEP Yeah that's nice I didn't ask you to reiterate your point, shithead. I told you to explain to me why you referred to Obama as my "sex toy" and why you tried to change the subject to his mishandling of veteran's affairs and the opiod crisis.
@IstillmissEP Then that's half of it. The other half is why you referred to him as my sex toy when you've known since I met you in 2012 that I hate the fucking guy.
For those of us non-USians can you explain what that means? Does it mean that insurance companies unilaterally cancel insurance? Or do you mean that people can't pay the premiums because they aren't working?
@ninalanyon Here in America, millions of people only have health insurance because their job pays for it. The virus has resulted in many companies laying off their workers, and that means they no longer have health insurance. So if they wanna go to the hospital they have to pay tens of thousands of dollars.
@Powderflask Because many people receive insurance through their employer, but with everyone being out of work, employers are revoking the benefits of their workers, either because they don't want to pay for it, or they can't.
@Harriet03 Because of how many people were wounded but survived the shooting, blood drives were held in major cities across the country to collect donations from people to provide transfusions for those who needed it. I donated some blood at the drive here in Chicago but on my way out, I got harassed by a small group of activists who claimed that I shouldn't be allowed to give blood because the shooting was at a gay bar which meant that the victims were mostly LGBT, and that they didn't need help from non-LGBT people. So they started screaming at me and telling me that I'm a homophobe.
A second group of activists, also pro-LGBT, started yelling at the first group and telling them they were insane and that the idea that a straight person shouldn't be able to donate blood to a gay person who needs a transfusion is absurd. It escalated almost to the point of physical violence until I told them that I'm not heterosexual, at which point the tension deflated like a punctured balloon and everyone felt stupid, myself included.
I love the massive fight you picked with all the chuds on here who are just spouting indefensible nonsense and silly memes.
I'd be more willing to reconsider my political views if these guys were remotely fucking coherent. Everything regresses back to the same lazy talking points.
@CountScrofula Can you believe Bud, shows up here on a post about healthcare, changes the topic of discussion to fucking Hossein Salami, and then tells me, on my own post, that he changed the subject on, to "say something relevant or STFU."
@BlueMetalChick That's what really gets me is that like... it's not a back-and-forth exchange. You respond, and he changes the topic. You respond to that and he responds with a meme mocking you. You respond to that and he resorts to some unrelated talking point.
There's no engagement. There's just talking at you.
@MagnifiqueGirl Oh yeah, more money than any other country. USA spends the most money on healthcare out of anyone. But that's because we pay essentially a private tax.
@Carazaa A great many Americans receive health insurance through their employer. Meaning since they can't work due to the pandemic, they also have no healthcare.
@BlueMetalChick but they do qualify for cobra insurance until they get medical! In all those other countries the cities ce don’t need to worry so that’s why I think we need to just do what they do, a one payer plan for everyone, so people don’t have to worry and not go to the doctor when they have corona virus! I believe this also plays a role in the death rate here! The sad thing is that many didn’t even have health insurance even with a job!
@Amyrakunejo I...have no idea what you're talking about. Hashtags, compound words, references to Greek mythology and British novelists. I'm thoroughly confused.
