What do you do to help fall asleep?

I've tried everything under the sun. And, nothing seems to work.

Not a short term solution but I promise, this works.
1) Wake up at the same time, every day. Even on your days off.
2) Cut out ALL caffeine after 3PM
3) Only actually GO to bed when you're ready to sleep. Do not go to bed in the anticipation of waiting for sleep.
4) No Naps! (At least until you get the hang of this.)
5) In the evening, an hour or so before bed turn down all the lights, shut off the electronics and pick up a book or some crocheting or a crossword puzzle. Let your brain take in the cues that it's getting toime for bed.

Eventually you'll find that you can wake without an alarm. You'll go to bed when you feel tired and wake refreshed and you'll be surprised at how much sleep you actually **need.**

Make sure your bed is for sleeping or sex only... No watching tv or reading in it... Condition your mind to is role in your life... Hope it helps

No caffeine after 12pm, and a doxylamine succinate sleeping pill with a 5 mg melatonin pill and a cup or two of extra strength sleepytime tea.

I’m a horrible insomniac, and that works well on most nights. It’s all non prescription too.

@Zaphod42 As I read your comment, I took a sip of my coffee. Lol!😜

@AJMoore1984 Sooo, everything under the sun except not having coffee before bed. Got it 🤣

Caffeine has a 6 hour half life in the body, so 12 hours total for it to be out of the system. If you smoke, that changes things a little, but introduces its own issues with sleep.

There is a breathing technique similar to box breathing that is used in the special forces community. You might want to google it and give it a try.

I take a shower 🚿 😸
Lie face up on top of the covers, arms at your side like you're standing at attention, head where your feet would be, stiff as a board. You'll soon enough tire of this arrangement.
I take three Diphenhydramine HCI 25mg sleeping pills from Walmart, and if not knocked out in a hour I also put on the Prophecy Theme from the original Dune movie, a three hour loop.
