I haven't had my own dog as an adult, but all the dogs the family had while i was growing up where crossbreeds. Heinz 57 we used to call them here in the UK.... many varieties! Lol. These days, they'd have daft names and cost a fortune!!
We had a black and white border collie/sheepdog. A clever, savvy boy, always out on the razz!
Then we had a red setter/ labrador. He was beautiful but never in good health sadly due to his parents being so different.
Then we had a cardigan corgi/ jack russell terrier. The best dog ever! Cute, clever, funny, fierce! Very loyal to us in our house....he didn't really like anyone else!! Lol. He and my dad were devoted to each other.

My very first dog was a mixture. His mother, Queenie, was a border collie, and we have no idea who the father was...probably a dachshund or a chihuahua...🤣🤣🤣. My little dog had short little legs, a long body, and long white fur.
After that, I briefly adopted a retired racing greyhound when we lived near the dog track in New Hampshire. She was fine until I had a child. She had to go to a new home after she bit my son in the face.
Then...a beautiful white toy sized Bichon Poo, and a gorgeous cocoa colored Cocker Poo, also toy sized.
Lastly, a Maltese.

All of my dogs were rescues. The first two I had were German shepherds and the last one I had was a Xolo aka Mexican hairless.
My German shepherds were amazing dogs. My Mexican hairless was as well, but he, as typical for the breed, was overly protective and obsessive with me and the kids and stuck to me like he was Velcroved against my leg.
I did look after my daughter’s mini Yorkshire terriers for almost two years while she was in Australia and Asia working. They were not as fun as having a large dog to be honest because they didn’t want to walk any further than the end of my driveway and they just yapped incessantly

My grandma had what I call a bitser (bits of this and that) we never knew the breed. Dog was born in the late 70s so wasn’t as common then to find out information of a rescue dog. The dog was put down when I was a little girl, the dog was old then.
Next dog was a whippet Jacket Russel cross
After that we had a Border Collie cross
Currently I have a Black Cockapoo

When I was little my parents owned a big dog but I can't remember what breed it was then they had a border collie german shephard mix and then a pug. I got my first dog back in december, a rescue Frenchie. 2 weeks later she had 3 kids so now I have 4 Frenchies.

Lab retriever, american pitbull terrier, half staffie half unknown (but it was definitely big, we or others thought Great Dane or catahoula possibly). And now I own a shi poo!
I'd love to have a boxer one day, and cattle dog even!

Personally I had a cocker spaniel then a ‘bagel’ Bassett x beagle. Now I have another cocker. My parents always had German shepherd’s. My sister had a Rottweiler cross, a boxer and now a saluki mix.

Right now we have 7 (down from an all time high of 14!).
The only pure breed we currently have is a brindle Mississippi Black Mouth Cur. We have two Rot-Labs and the rest are mixed breeds.
In the past we’ve had two black Labs, a mixed retriever, two Rottweilers, and lots of small mixed breeds.

I have a 5-month-old German Shepherd. To say it's like having a toddler is an understatement lol.

@shinyplasticlove I have the same problem with water dumping. He will stick his paw in it and that's the end of that. There are water bowls available that are "anti-dumping" but they don't hold as much water. Are your pups siblings?
shinyplasticlove · 51-55, M
@robbie2499 Yes. They will even find a way to pick up and anti tip bowl.
robbie2499 · 61-69, F
@shinyplasticlove Aww..they are simply precious!
