Here she is a few days later after treatment with menuca honey. It’s really expensive stuff, but what a substance!!

@minxy incredible isn’t it? The vet’s theory on cat healing speed is that they’ve got to heal quickly in the wild or else they can’t hunt properly. Sounds reasonable eh?
minxy · 46-50, F
@Oneofthestormboys That sounds reasonable yes, it makes a lot of sense.

@Oneofthestormboys Cats have a rough life in the wild, they have to be tough.

What happened?
What happened?
Oneofthestormboys · 100+, M
@minxy It was an abscess probably caused by a cat fight. I couldn’t believe the size and depth of it…
minxy · 46-50, F
@Oneofthestormboys Yeouch, yes. It looks there like it was pretty deep.
midsummer · F
Ive healed my cat so many times but this one looks deep I hope he is better now
Oneofthestormboys · 100+, M
@midsummer Yes - it healed in NO TIME with menuca honey - absolutely astonishing. There’s a photo below in the feed that was taken literally a few days or a week or so after. The vet told me that cats heal incredibly quickly, because if not (in the wild) it would affect their hunting. So to survive they heal very quickly.
4meAndyou · F
Wow!!! That was a horribly deep abcess! I am so glad she is healing up so beautifully!
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Poor baby!

@Lilymoon She had a fight I think. It was a huge abscess that burst. There’s a photo below somewhere which shows the miraculous healing that happened in no time at all. I’m still stunned how quickly it knitted back together with just Menuca honey!
Yes, both my cats go out a lot because I live next to a heath and they love going out. It’s usually no problem at all, but I suppose she came across an opponent on the Heath territory front…

Was it a fight with a feral cat?
Oneofthestormboys · 100+, M
@deadgerbil Could have been, although apparently every cat’s teeth and claws are covered in bacteria, so it could have been a domesticated cat as well, or even something else. Maybe she took on a big rat or something?
deadgerbil · 26-30
@Oneofthestormboys yikes

@Ashly Yes she is - that was a few days ago, about a week or so. Update photo coming, and you won’t believe how it has healed!
