If the dogs can be fed and walked at the same time, and they need the same amount of attention, I’d add around $30 for the second dog. Probably $40 if one dog is higher energy than the other.
If they have to be fed/walked/played with separately, or if they need special medications etc, I’d go $175 total

Are you in the usa? There's a site called Rover for people to sign up to be dog sitters. The people that charge that much don't get much business

@Baybreeze I lived near Worcester for several years and only charged like 65 a day for 2 dogs, and was swamped with business. It made a good supplementary income
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@averageguy I'm seeing people charging a lot more near Boston area, like 150 a day for two dogs
averageguy · 46-50, M
@Baybreeze ah, it does go higher near Boston, just because there is more money there, that's true

Give them a great deal so you get return business. $50 for one more, and 25 for every one after that.
You get to play with dogs, this feels like thievery to me.😅

@UnderLockDown Play is a small portion, picking up messes, in mud, rain, poop pickup, dogs can run off and pull, attack other dogs...plus you're keeping the home looked after and safe...

@Baybreeze Yeah, but everything pales in comparison to puppy dogs! They are so much easier than temp workers.😫
Muthafukajones · 46-50, M
It’s not much harder to look after two dogs so perhaps $150 per day.
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@Muthafukajones They are offering 100 a day for both. I just think it's too low especially with one being only a year old. They may not have had puppy school, and dogs that young are high energy
Adogslife · 61-69, M
I honestly think $100 is enough for both. You’ve got to be more competitive than boarding.
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@Adogslife this is a one year old, like a puppy ....I'm not sure if it's more walks a day yet than the other dog or together. I'm also watching the house, and do plants outside, and one dog is dog aggressive on walk. So I guess 100 could work but I do believe it's worth more for high energy dog

@Baybreeze My wife pays a friend. She drops our dog off for a full week while we’re on vacation. She pays the friend $50/day.
When the dog has a play day (at our vet’s), I’m pretty sure the 8am - 5:00pm is $47.50/day.
Those are RI numbers. If I was at work (Boston burbs), I’m betting you can get $150 for the pair. Everyone can afford it.

They only charge $25 a day at the Kennels here. Which includes everything.

Am I doing this for a friend or a stranger?

To get a much more accurate price range, best to check humane society.
StygianKohlrabi · 46-50, M
if it was me I'd charge $100 total. maybe less
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@StygianKohlrabi I was thinking 120 Bec the rate is 100 in MA for one dog including overnight. Plus bringing in packages, mail, watering plants, three walks a day, outdoor play. And the one year old I have no idea if it's trained, they are high energy
