So sad. I hope you stay with her while she goes to sleep, many don't and I read about how animals really do need someone there with them. I stroked my old dog's head and told him to sleep well and that I loved him. I was seventeen but would do it again.
I'm sorry my friend, that's very sad. I've been there more than once. I tried to just focus on the life had. That little dog was loved and kept safe. She led a blessed life.

@TheRealBarbossa Typically when people have to make that choice, it is cause the pet is old and likely in bad health. Never easy choice but one cannot just let an animal suffer all the time.
