Do you wear gloves while chopping veggies or cooking/baking?

Nope. Just wash, chop, wash, pick another veggie, wash, chop, wash and so on....

Technically you are better off just washing your hands as gloves can transfer particles too but the serve safe requirements say you need to wear gloves or use tongs when handling food after it is cooked.

According to the National Restaurant Association, ServSafe recommends that food handlers wear single-use gloves to create a barrier between their hands and food to prevent cross-contamination:
When to wear gloves
Wear gloves when handling ready-to-eat foods, or when changing tasks, especially when working with raw and cooked foods. You should also wear gloves if you have cuts, scrapes, or burns on your hands.
When to change gloves
Change gloves as soon as they become dirty or torn, after handling raw meat, seafood, or poultry, and before handling ready-to-eat food. You should also change gloves after four hours of continuous use, or after an interruption, such as taking a phone call.
How to use gloves
Wash and dry your hands before putting on gloves, and select the correct size. Hold gloves by the edge when putting them on. Never wash and reuse gloves.
What gloves to use
Use gloves approved for foodservice. Nitrile gloves are a good option because they are similar to latex in strength and elasticity, but don't contain the latex proteins that some people are allergic to.

@KatyO83 me neither
WillaKissing · 56-60
Nope. I cook from scratch and almost always just for myself. So, I am quite good with cross contamination of myself and my foods.

Only when taking dishes out of oven

WillaKissing · 56-60

No. I just keep them clean

No! Use Oven Mitts to put in baking trays etc, but not to cook with. Half the fun is getting your hands stuck in whatever you're making!

No. But I do wash my hands and the veggies.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
No, I hate the smell of rubber on my hands.

I do when I am peeling and chopping butternut squash, sweet potatoes, or carrots, because they stain my fingernails and hands orange.

I also wear gloves when making meatloaf, because I squish the ingredients together with my hands. AND when making meatballs.

AND when handling raw poultry.
