Have you ever gotten the giggles in an inappropriate place? Where was it?

Yep, plenty of places. My daughter’s national honor society induction was prob the worst. Her bf was also in tears from sitting next to me and he had no idea why 🤣 The speaker kept yelling in the microphone and each time she started it a lady jumped, every single time. I tried so hard to not laugh. Then I saw my my mom was in tears on the other side of me quietly and I busted out laughing. My daughter then did too. Was very awkward.

Yes I got this hysterical laughing fit watching my 90+ year old mother trying to line up her cut of her birthday cake. I got to the point where I couldn’t hold it in anymore and just uncontrollable laughter. My kids and wife thought I was terrible but my mother was a really good sport about it and laughed right along with me.

Yes in the middle of a planning meeting. They looked at me like I had 4 heads.

I had accompanied my room mate to court. Minor vandalism charge. Anyways -

So it was in the morning and the judge was acting like someone had lit the fuse on his t4mpon.
Think "Judge Judy" (yeah 😬 )

Anyways he starts in about how an order to go to court is an order. Not a suggestion, request, etc..

Then he says "If you decide not to show up, I will send this guy after you". The bailiff was some overweight cop who got this real nervous look on his face suddenly. like, "Oh God no! would that mean I would have to move?"

All I could think was, "Oh yeah like his f4t 4ss is going to catch anything! Only thing he about to catch is diabetes!"

Then the judge was trying some guy in an orange jump suit. Judge asked why he didn't have a job and I thought, "Well your dishonor, MAYBE he lost his job due to being in jail."

Another time I had to change some legal paperwork through the court. One case heard before mine was a man trying to get his driver's license re-instated. The judge asked him, "And you haven't driven since your license has been suspended?" The guy behind me whispered, "Of COURSE not!" 🤣 How that judge gonna ask something like that?

My own inappropriate place was the following scenario.

We'd gone to a close friend's funeral, in Sheffield. I'd never been to there before. There's a bunch of cars there and it's in a procession. From the actual service, at the church, to the plot was quite a drive.

Unbeknown to us, one of the leading cars, the gentleman was on Frusemide, or water tablets to the rest of us. They make you pee.

Apparently, the guy was freaking out...desperate to pee...and made the driver go down this side road. All so he could jump out, run behind a bush, do his thing and then get back in.

Fine, only nobody knew this - of course - and about 5 or 6 other cars followed down, thinking it was part of the route. Only....it was a dead end!

We stopped, confused whilst the guy did his thing, then told to reverse.

We were all late.

Got to the service, the guy told us and apologized. I had a fit of giggles around the gravesite.

Highly embarrassing.

🤣😇🤣

@FemSteps several people in the family were there - we got the giggles trying to plan for the funeral - every time they left the room we lost it - in our defense we were very tired and had been up all night.

@Pretzel it’s do hard to control sometimes and sleep deprivation certainly could’ve played a role.

I have tourette's so yes I have. To many to count
I had one close call but I held it together until I was in an appropriate place. But I think this clip from the Mary Tyler Moore Show depicts it best. Chuckles the clown died and everybody in the newsroom was making and laughing at dark jokes. Mary scolded them, outraged. At the actual funeral it was Mary who couldn’t hold in the laughter, until the officiant told her to “Laugh! Chuckles loved laughter!”

Then she cried.

All the time, esp when I was a teenager. Usually in groups of mixed company when things get overly reverent

In Church at a wedding. My cousin was sitting a few rows back from me. I turned to look back and he flipped me off! In church! I covered my mouth like omg 😱. He realized what he did and that was it. Hard to contain that….he never lived that one down.
At my cousin’s wedding, held at Pebble Beach. She was premed here when she met her groom and her parents flew in her mother’s pastor (she’s not Catholic) and with his thick drawl he commented on this "suspicious" occasion. My mother bit her lip, and I giggled.
RebelRaven · 51-55, F
Yes, a funeral, I may or may not also have said something super inappropriate and hilarious.
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
@RebelRaven You are my soulmate. 😄 I am so awkward and often get the giggles in inappropriate places, too. I used to try to be funny in tense situations, and it was so often inappropriate and dumb. Now, I just try to not say anything. 😄 I really try…
RebelRaven · 51-55, F
@ChampagneOnIce you know, life is hard and humour just makes everything better, but I hear you on just keeping quiet, I have embarrassed others (and myself) many times. 🤗
It sounds a bit like a fetish question, but ok.
Yes, during a serious classical music concert.

Just one of the results of having an inappropriate sense of humor.
