I found a video on YouTube that makes toothpaste at home? Do you think this is reasonable?

Not sure if making your own toothpaste makes sense, but nobody should ever use sugared toothpaste – where sugar as an ingredient is often hidden behind beautiful words such as "Xylitol". Xylitol is just one special type of sugar. It's legal to say "sugar-free" but that's a legal deception.
Find one that does not contain sugar. If it's sweet it contains sugar.
I do not use any toothpaste, I just use my brush and warm water, and it works perfectly. My teeth are pretty and healthy.

@helenS not necessarily , some toothpastes contain xylitol, an artificial sweetener that actually inhibits bacterial plaque growth . Xylitol sweetened chewing gum is a good stop gap measure if brushing is not possible .

@TexChik Thank you – I didn't know, I thought Xylitol is just a special kind of sugar. 🌷

@helenS 😉. My in-law is a dentist !

Atleast there's probably no fluoride in it.

@Matt85 Another useless and probably even dangerous component of commercially available toothpastes.

Ok, if you simply use a pea sized amt of toothpaste a tube can last a year or more.

@Fairydust Its not the toothpaste its the brushing. The tp is only there to help scrub your tongue and to make your breath smell better.

@Vin53
One tube would never last a year. Lol 😁

depends what you want to achieve, simply blend powdered cloves and olive oil as simplest paste for killing bacteria and removing tart.

I believe that baking soda is used by some for brushing teeth. Some tooth-paste brands may even advertised baking soda as a core ingredient.

@Heartlander If my ARM felt better I'd get my HAMMER & fix that hole in the garage door.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@Vin53 Before it got all sophisticated and was marketed as toothpaste, some simply dipped their tooth brushes into the baking soda.

Toothpaste?
Fairydust · F
Best to make your own or find fluoride free toothpaste.

No idea what they are using or saying.

Depends on how abrasive it is.... You don't want to save cents on toothpaste only to spend big bucks at the dentist

Careful with the baking soda. I fairly certain the homemade type uses it.

You have stopped? Did you go to the police?
Monalisaa1986 · 36-40, F
@Fairydust what are the police going to do about it
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
