Does your zodiac sign make who u are ?

Or do you belive in them ?
calicuz · 51-55, M
Yes, I'm a Gemini and prouod of it.

@calicuz Gemini too

@Bexsy Aquarius

I do not believe in them.

And even if I did, seeing as I was born 6 weeks prematurely, it is hard to imagine how the sign I was born in would matter more than the sign I was due to be born in. (Astrologers say that the mother's flesh shields the baby in the womb from astrological influences.)

Also, the earth precesses on its axis as it rotates (like a spinning top). Currently, the axis points to the North Star, but in ancient times it did not. So in fact, the sun is not even "in" the constellation that you supposedly are born into. This can be verified during a solar eclipse, when people can see the stars and the eclipsed sun . The sun is not located in the constellation that supposedly corresponds to the sign for people born on that date. It is located in the next constellation of the zodiac. (Astrologers say that what matters is the "house", not the constellation. But I am not sure what defines a house!)

I only use them for entertainment, I don't 100% believe that stars, planets, moons and asteroids are connected to behavior.

I'm a Scorpio Sun and an Aquarius moon according to them.

Astrology can also be too deterministic and diminishes freedom, fate and destiny, plus there's some people that discriminate against certain people based on their signs.

We know that the whole universe and multiverse is connected and interconnected through quantum entanglement and energy, we're a part of universe/multiverse not separated from it. Astrology is mostly false but it has some grains of truth in it, life is basically made of the same stuff of the Cosmos, we are stardust and eternally connected to the Earth and the whole multicosmos from all the way to the big bang.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
No. I believe all of that is a bunch of crap and woowoo words, anyway. If someone wants to believe in that crap and star signs and whatnot, I don't care, but I avoid those people like the plague because that's a huge red flag to me, especially when trying to find a girlfriend. Any woman I have met personally who is into all those things and energy and what not, they all have had one thing I've noticed, which is that they're nuts and should be avoided at all costs. One of them had even confessed her feelings to me at some point but I rejected her for her belief in all the star sign crap and because of all the other millions of red flags she had lol. Dodged a bullet there.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@IWasCallingYaLarry They are able to dump you because of their prejudices based on that crap before they even give you a chance to show who you truly are. Not that much different from racism.
Ynotisay · M
As much as religion makes me shake my head, astrology takes it to another level. Not only is there zero consistency but if you look at the traits of the zodiac signs, everyone can find something applicable to themselves. Cracks me up.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
I don't believe in any crap even close to that.
No heaven or hell or ghosts or any type of after life.
No reincarnation crap ..... NONE of it ......
But damn there has to be something going on because every description of a Taurus could have my picture next to it.
And the same goes with my ex-wife and Capricorn.
I'm not talking about the daily crap in the paper about how your day is going to be either.
I'm talking all them books about it as a base got me pegged even my favorite color.
bookerdana · M
@Dainbramadge First part of your answer sounds like a Pink Floyd song🙉
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
@Dainbramadge What you don't believe in reincarnation? You know energy can't be created or destroyed so why wouldn't reincarnation be real. In nature there's cycles. Also there's more proof of reincarnation than heaven or hell, astrology or some demons and ghosts.

Reincarnation makes more sense than some eternal dark nothingness or some heaven or hell in a vast dimension and also eternal nothingness goes against the laws of physics and the conservation of energy. Energy and matter is in constant flux and it's not contained in 1 place. Atoms and energy get recycled by mother earth from one form to another. The soul is also a type of energy in a quantum level.

Also I'm open to the possibility that the universe and multiverse is cyclic and eternal with infinite big bangs and infinite universes. Energy whether it's the essence of life and the energy that nourishes life is constantly recycled over and over.

Quantum physics and spirituality is connected.

Heaven and hell doesn't make sense, so does eternal nothingness.

You can't destroy matter and energy it only gets transformed. Nature and the whole multicosmos is about transformation, something dies gives away to something new.

Just realize how racism, sexism, classism, genderism and bigotry will be solved if science now confirmed that reincarnation is true and that all things whether living and non living are and were connected from all lifetimes and beyond and that identifying and being too attached with our physical bodies will be meaningless. And also do you know that each atom in your body was probably once part of a dinosaur and in the body of a Pharaoh and each and every person on Earth that lived and died and every plant that lived and died and every living species that lived in died before you, this means that nature recycles every part of us including our energy and essence and atoms.

Namaste.
Dainbramadge · 56-60, M
@Peaceandnamaste okay when I said I don't believe in reincarnation it didn't mean that the atoms that make us up don't get transferred around the universe to become other things.
When I said I don't believe in reincarnation I just meant the consciousness of the individual doesn't move on like the atoms do.
Nice response though thank you.
Budwick · 70-79, M
No because there is no logic. I’ve met people with the same zodiac signs, we are all different people.
PatKirby · M
You can pretty much ascribe any of the characteristics and moods to anyone to one degree or another. Also, at various times. I don't believe any group has a special exclusive ownership of human traits that others don't. Beside my parents created me and I took the football and ran with it if you know what I mean.
they are the most accurate..... for those that read astrology all the time
I mean, if you subscribe? you will alter and filter you actions to better fit your zodiac
it is a hot bed of Bigotry... "YOu know those Scorpio's. they are All alike"
try saying that with an ethnic label, see how it looks

A Famous Educator, offered his college class a Free Reading
they all passed in thier brith dates and stuff
next ady? he delivered an envelop to each person
then asked for a show of hands, for those who found it accurate
Most ALL raised thier hands

then he had them swap envelops with a a neighbor in the class

then all understood, the Horoscopes were all Incidental

A PRESENT for any who can tell me who the Educator was
@SatyrService Just guessing: Carl Sagan?
It’s purely for entertainment. In my case, there are some similarities, but that could be because it’s what I read. 😅
exexec · 61-69, C
No, but if someone really believes their sign determines who they are, they might focus on becoming that kind of person. In that case, the sign does influence who they are.
thatbuggerpaul · 100+, M
Oh yeah like 1 in 12 people are going to win big on the lottery today but the bad news is that their dogs will all get run over
ArishMell · 70-79, M
No I do not believe in them!

Provided you do not try to take them seriously, they can be a bit of fun, I suppose.
WillaKissing · 56-60
I have traits of my Zodiac sign, yes. But it has not made me whom I am, that took self-discipline and drive.
Teirdalin · 31-35
Some people will base their personality off their zodiac because they think that is what they are.
akindheart · 61-69, F
i hate to say this but i am pretty true to mine. Scorpio. I talk more than the usual but other than that it is dead on
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
I believe the position of planets do have an influence on how we are. We have water and minerals in our bodies....minerals and water are always affected by what the universe is doing. It's nature.
@DearAmbellina2113 If u say so. ;-) ;-)
@MaBalzEsHari
.but the amount of it we would ever feel from any other planet in our solar system would be so negligible
I just did the math on that 'cause I'm that kind of guy.

Mars' closest approach to Earth is about 34 million miles, so how does its gravity compare with a passing car 3.4 feet away?

Mars is about 5x10^10 farther away (5000ft/mile)x(10^6miles)x(34/3.4)
Mars weighs about 6.4x10^20 tons.

Let's say it's a two ton car, 3.4 feet away. Since gravity falls off inversely with the square of distance, one ton of Mars has [5x10^10]^2 less influence than one ton of car. But Mars has 6.4x10^20 tons, so all of Mars has 6.4/(25x2) as much gravitational pull as that car, or about 1/8 as much pull (note, I picked 3.4 feet to make the 10^20 values cancel).

Put the car ten feet away, and it's pull is roughly equal to Mars. Replace the car with a 20 ton truck 30 feet away, and it's pull is roughly equal to Mars. Interesting result, no?

One other thought: some might argue that it's not the direct gravitational forces from the influencing planet but rather the tidal forces. As it happens, tidal forces fall off inversely with the cube of distance, which means the tidal forces of Mars on the human body are truly negligible.
@ElwoodBlues As i said.

Zodiac signs and horoscopes don't dictate any of what I think or do.

No, it doesn’t.
What about the people in the southern hemisphere?
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
It doesn't make who I am but I definitely align with Piscean traits.

Somewhat, it’s more than just our zodiac sign, it’s our moon sign and where other signs are at the time we’re born.

To some extent. And yes but actual natal charts not generalized horoscopes.
Yes. Determinism is the truth.
I am destined to be exactly here.

It's a worthless concept targeting the ego.
Only if you are exceedingly gullible.

Maybe. Some of the attributes I can see in myself.

Cancer here but i'm rarely crabby.

My zodiac sign does even know me 😂

There’s definitely some truth to it
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
No and no.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
I think there's something to them, but in no way is a star sign evidence or proof of anything.

Not really, but if two people of very compatible signs really identify with the traits of those signs, when they are together it is a nice sort of extra icing on the cake of compatibility and in particular sexual chemistry / intensity ... sort of a silly but nice self-fulfilling prophesy I suppose
