Is it normal for a couple to constantly put each other down

It's probably not that healthy but some people like it rough.

I wouldn't be able to be in such relationship but I'd say it depends on the dynamics they have, how strong is their self-confidence and how well they deal with being criticized. I noticed that to some it's a thrill. They want to insult and be insulted back, to instigate argument and fights or want to oppose you and you to stand up to them...I say, if that's the kink of both, whatever but keep it between you two and don't spill it further into society and above all, please, don't have children. Because, yeah, it's toxic AF to a normal person.

One of the paradoxes of human life is that the closer you are to someone, the easier it seems to be to be critical of them, and the more likely you are to put them down - I hope usually in a humorous and unhurtful way.
