Is it normal for a couple to constantly put each other down

or be critical of what eachother does?? I consider it toxic. What do you think

One of the paradoxes of human life is that the closer you are to someone, the easier it seems to be to be critical of them, and the more likely you are to put them down - I hope usually in a humorous and unhurtful way.
