If You Could...

... Live forever, would you?

As long as I had my health and could continue to meet people, I would.
mooncrest02 · 31-35, F
No, sounds like eternal sadness, too many endings to witness.
Samek · 36-40, M
@mooncrest02 Every story has an ending but potential for sequels.
mooncrest02 · 31-35, F
@Samek i understand that i just wouldnt want to see so many especially if it wasnt going in the direction i wanted..
Samek · 36-40, M
@mooncrest02 having dealt with tragic loss of close loved ones, I feel this pain. <3
Jessmari · 41-45
I'd need a reason or some sort of drive to live forever. Otherwise it seems like there would extremely long periods of monotony.
Samek · 36-40, M
@Jessmari Stories are mine, both observing and chronicling.
Jessmari · 41-45
@Samek So basically Astinus from Dragonlance.
Samek · 36-40, M
@Jessmari Basically.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
No.
Imagine the eternal sadness of watching everyone you grow close to die.
You're left carrying the grief for all of them
Samek · 36-40, M
@Picklebobble2 I can empathize with this, carrying my own grief. I figure if I did live forever, I would immortalize the memory of every soul I met.
being · 36-40, F
I would. But I'd rest more and slow down more...
I'm sure there'd come moments where I'd wish to die. So I don't know what I'd do with those...
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Absolutely, as long as I had eternal youth, health and invulnerability and no one was trying to chop my head off.
Monday40 · 51-55, F
Only if my dogs could run down the road
and meet me and be healthy and stay safe with me
No, that would get boring and takes away all urgency to do anything.
No, I think we all have a finite amount of time, where we seek and search for those we love, and watching people older than me I love suffer, I learned gratitude and love more from when they died. It's a silly notion in this world, the longer we live that it's a measure of society bettering itself while we have more people looking for love and meaning than we ever did before.
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
You want the honest truth. Sometimes I wish I would die soon.

I know the physical pain my body is going to be facing in the next few years. I'm already having problems moving, but I force myself to work and keep up and out work teenagers & 20 year olds.

Right now I can barley move or walk and I refuse to take aspirin or anything to relieve pain.

Why, because that's the pussy way out
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
Nothing terrifies me more than the thought of eternal life
I'd be thinking "been there, done that" 24/7 so, no thanks.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Absolutely not.
No. Im tired already
smiler2012 · 56-60
@Samek 🤔i think most would if they could under that proviso if they still had all there facilities lol
Samek · 36-40, M
@smiler2012 Yeah, asking under the pretense of no monkey's paw scenarios.
squishylemon · 26-30, F
Im counting the years to my death, living forever sounds like torture
black4white · 56-60, M
Without a doubt not even second guessing a full on NO !!!
Adstar · 56-60, M

@Kurea Bask in it's background radiation as I wait to become a universe unto my own.
