Oh look, I`m retired and don`t have to worry about that. I`m letting the sun melt mine. 😁
Matt85 · 36-40, M
Ah, that is a cow when that happens. It happened to me a few weeks back when I wanted to go somewhere.

Auto start with defroster on high
sciguy18 · M
Did you know you can keep ice off your side mirrors by putting a plastic bag over them before a storm?
Majorlatency · M
Dont lick your car door!
Quimliqer · 70-79, M
That’s where -35° windshield washer fluid comes in handy!!
Byron8by7 · M
@Quimliqer @Lilymoon
When I lived in North Dakota, I mixed up my own "winter brew" washer fluid formula:
1 gallon jug -35 washer fluid, if you can find the -35 formula; otherwise use regular -20 formula
An empty 32 ounce container, with a lid
1 32 ounce bottle 91% isopropyl ( rubbing) alcohol
Pour 32 ounces of washer fluid into the 32 ounce container; tighten the lid, save it for warmer weather
Add 32 ounces of alcohol to the jug of washer fluid, tighten the lid, and shake to mix
The alcohol lowers the freezing point of the mixture.
I now live in Wisconsin, where it doesn't get nearly as cold as in North Dakota. I now use -20 washer fluid here, but I still mix in the alcohol.
The ice storm that coated your car was/is rather rare in North Dakota, but heavy snow is very common there. I have lived here in southeast Wisconsin since 2017, and we have had a few heavy snow storms here - just yesterday, as a matter fact - and my "winter brew" mixture works really well.

MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Spray bottle with half water half white vinegar sprayed on windshield before prevents that.
Lilymoon · F
@MrBrownstone really?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@Lilymoon Yes
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Sorry to see that. I don't miss those days. That is why they invented remote starting of cars, if you have an electric vehicle, and you leave it plugged in, you don't use any of the vehicles charge.
Lilymoon · F
@samueltyler2 for sure..
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Lilymoon be safe!
popmol · 26-30, M
how fun!
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
I hate when that happens to my car too. The last time the door latch would not secure for at least 20 minutes even with WD40 sprayed in it to loosen/melt the ice inside of the door lock/latch.
Lilymoon · F
@WillaKissing Yeah such a pain
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@Lilymoon Yes, it is.
GBPackersFan · 41-45, M
Just pour like 20 pots of coffee on it 😂 seriously though it just means another 10 minutes or so before you can go anywhere
Lilymoon · F
@GBPackersFan and now the sun is trying to come out lol
WindTherapy · 56-60, M
For this reason I've been very happy with my work from home arrangement the past few years.
Lilymoon · F
@WindTherapy yeah no kidding....that's great!
