Originally they were great. They seem to be struggling to find or create new quality series. Everything is so short. I have loved them up until now. I hope they spend more on news series/good content.

@Mindful Thank you.

I wish they had MORE old stuff!! Like from the 1880s to 1970s
Generally I think they have a good amount of series worth checking out.

I don't mind the older stuff, often i prefer it.
Mind you, i went nearly 20 years without being able to watch what i wanted on tv......so its good i can get back to a lot of shows/movies i always wanted to see.

@OogieBoogie Twenty years?
Did the kids get priority? Your husband was adamantly opposed to sharing the TV?

Liking shows and movies on Netflix is always a bad idea. Their reccomendations are all shit house after awhile.

@Thevy29 Thank you.

@ProfessorPlum77 Sorry if my response sounded weird (Got a headache right now) Yeah, if my family weren't all logged into my Netflix account I'd have turned it off last year.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@Thevy29 I understand. And, your original response was fine.

The biggest thing annoying me is that they use AI on some foreign-language content* to actually change the movements of the faces of cast members to appear to be actually lip-syncing if you select the English audio dubbing option (and likewise use AI to use the real actors' voices to recreate their dialogue in English, rather than doing traditional dubbing with real voice actors). The energy and water use needed for that must be ridiculous
And then the fact that they paid so much money to someone as useless and entitled as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is also ridiculous, naturally fees have to cover BS like that ... heaven forbid that this couple might not be able to afford to live in Montecito and have an unsustainble green lawn in drought-stricken California
* For the example, the first time I noticed this was with Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine, it was creepy AF

@SnickersDOM What does AI have to do with water and energy?
SnickersDOM · M
@ProfessorPlum77 well anyone who hasn't been living under a rock for the last coupel of years knows the extraordinary energy and water needs of AI datacenters (for power and cooling), especially for generating images, audio and video ... AI datacenters are a subject of elections at this point
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@SnickersDOM I did know that data centers were the focus of a lot of controversy. lately.

I had it for a while. I stopped because I got tired of them canceling shows mid stream unfinished with no final episodes. I now will not watch any streaming shows until I see the network stand behind them and compete the story. Netflix creates far too many and bails if they don't instantly draw a money making audience. They have no foresight just desire for all or nothing success.
The lesson for this is ages old. NBC killed the original Star Trek based on bad ratings information. When it blew up huge instant in sindication they realized their mistake too late.
