What is one of your favorite cheesy horror flicks from the 70s-80s?

Sleepaway Camp (1983)

@Jeffrey53 "Across this great nation almost everyone has been affected in one way or another by this terrible tomato onslaught" This is so crazy 🤣
Excellent B movie apparently!
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@helenS Hilariously, yes. As near as I can tell, the original was a spoof of horror movies, and then they came out with an amazing spoof sequel in the '80s.

TrashCat · M
@soar2newhighs Yes...It's not my favorite Dario Argento film but I really like this movie

Street Trash

@TrashCat what was this one about
TrashCat · M
@DeluxedEdition A liquor store owner finds some bad hooch called "Old Viper" in his basement of his old Liquor store and puts it up for sale. He sells it real cheap and the local hobos snatch it up. After they drink it, they melt. LOL.
There is a sub plot involving a cultish ex-vietnam vet leader living in a junkyard. It's disgusting, wrong, and hilarious
Highly recommend it

An ex of mine loved Halloween. I enjoyed it too but I don't think she liked the fact I saw it as comedy with the low budget effects.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow How can anybody not see it like that, though?
Night of the comet.
And I love the scene where he says"let's play a game, it's called a scary noises" You know... The Russian roulette scene.
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
Dark Night of The Scarecrow. Made for t.v. horror flick from 1981 that's surprisingly well done all things considered.

I spit on your grave(1978) with Camille Keaton, Buster Keaton's granddaughter.
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
Not so much cheesy but one of the best from the 80s

SW-User
What about Puppet Master??😂
Rose0415 · 36-40, F
@SW-User Oh yeah, that's another good one 😂
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Justme22 I've heard tell of this one, but I've never seen it. As I understand it, it's a complete departure from the formula of every other Halloween movie. Instead of Michael Myers coming back from the dead, the plot revolves around an evil toymaker who makes Halloween masks using pieces of Stonehenge. Somehow, this causes the masks to kill.

@LordShadowfire That pretty much sums it up. It was supposed to start an anthology, but it was such a bomb it never got off the ground. Track it down if you can, it is the ultimate cheese. I think the plot was trying to return Halloween to its bloody Celtic roots. Which apparently caused the masks to turn into a mass of bugs that ates the kids??? Like you said not a slasher at all but hilariously bad.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@ShiftingGears 😆😆😆 I completely forgot about that!
Jungleman · M
probably 'slaughter high' from sometime early 80s.
The ending of this movie is hilarious

The Stuff
It's got the most ridiculous plotline ever. This guy is walking along and sees this weird shit oozing out of the ground, so naturally, he picks some up and eats it. He likes the taste so much that he starts bottling it and selling it. He even builds a fake factory to cover the fact that he's just digging this stuff out of the ground and putting it straight into jars.
Rose0415 · 36-40, F
@LordShadowfire Oh my God wow 😂

@JohnnyNoir Micheal Ripper, Barbara Shelley...
Great films.
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
@robingoodfellow I love Michael Ripper! He's really good in Plague of the Zombies
@JohnnyNoir yes, he's one of those wonderful supporting actors who rarely has a big role but everything he's in is better because he's in it.

@SW-User I have a, shall we say, creatively acquired copy of that on the SD card in my phone.
