It's an early Guillermo Del Toro movie. It's in Spanish. It's partly a political war movie, partly a fantasy movie and a human tragedy. If Narnia and Land and Freedom had a child, it would look like this.

If you like action movies with some fun and lots of Parcour Banlieu 13 and Banlieu 13 Ultimatum are great fun.
The second one is technically a sequel but both stand alone just fine and you don't need to see the first one to understand what is going on.
It does help understand the kind of Cyberpunkish near future of the setting though if you have seen the first one.

"Seven Samurai" put the whammy on me as a kid. It’s that movie that made me understand the role of the director.
In the 90's I was very much into the Hong Kong cinema. Being still a British colony, all the video tapes had English subtitles. The streaming service Tubi, has access to Spaghetti Westerns which I find entertaining.
