Recently watched Charlie Chaplin's "Modern Times" for the first time.
It was amazing.

Probably Some Like It Hot, one of my favorite comedies ever.

@AbbeyRhode I’m a huge Tony C fan. Really amazing funny movie.

The other night I was watching Bullitt (1968) with Steve McQueen and Robert Vaughn.

@Barefooter25 hardly anybody ever mentions that movie. That might be best car chase and an excellent sound track by Wang Chung!
BrewCityBarFly · M
@4thdimensiondream Not sure how Wang Chung did a soundtrack for a 1968 movie. Are you thinking about To Live and Die in L.A?
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@BrewCityBarFly yes I read too fast. Sorry. Sorry working and trying to keep up with the thread. You should check out To Live and die in LA if you haven’t seen it and definitely check out the music. By far the best music by them. Not nice calling me out on my post!!!! lol. Kidding and thanks for catching that.

@4thdimensiondream It wasn't with scofield, I think, but I'm jealous either way. I need to do more theater.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@val70 I meant movie theater!
val70 · 56-60
@4thdimensiondream Still jealous :)

The Young Savages (1961) Starring Burt Lancaster and half the cast of The Scalphunters ((1968) Still one of my all time favourite westerns) Young savages was more intense then I was expecting.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@Thevy29 I need to keep an eye out for it on TCM

To Catch a Thief
1955 Hitchcock film starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly, shot in Provence (and overlooking Monaco) back in a glorious time when the region was less urbanized and more green (Monte Carlo didn't even have skyscrapers yet ... see the 32 second mark in the trailer below for example), and possibly one of the earliest uses of a helcopter for filming wide landscape shots
also the reason Grace Kelly met a prince and ceased acting

Father Goose with Cary Grant. Cute movie.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@TexChik he’s alone on an island in WW2 and he falls for a woman from the island or something? Ever see Operation Petticoat?
TexChik · F
@4thdimensiondream He was a drunken playboy down on his luck and got bamboozled by the British Navy into being a coast watcher (they "accidentally" damaged his boat with the promise to fix it ...after the war)
Then a School marm and her flock of students (all girls) fell into his lap on the island while evading the Japanese. They ended up coexisting on the island until a crisis forced them off. Very cute, good acting, and writing...and Cary Grant! 😉

Not sure which we watched last on a movie night, but I think it was "The Greatest Show on Earth" with Charlton Heston. I mostly like the movie for Jimmy Stewart's portrayal of Buttons the clown.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@BrewCityBarFly the train wreck scene is crazy! Good movie.

I'm not much of a movie fan but as a kid I remember watching The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and Dr Zhivago. Dr Zhivago was later than The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance so I guess that must be the one.

My comment made me want to see what I must've forgotten. I now recall I didn't really watch the movie carefully because it was 1940s sappy.
