I very rarely watch a film more than once, there have been a handful that I've watched again but years later, not while it's still fresh in my mind.
Some people have a 'favourite film' that they watch almost once a week, probably more and I really don't see the point, the point of a film to me is to see what happens and enjoy the plot being acted out while guessing the ending, I find it very boring when I know what happens.
The only time I've watched a film again soon after seeing it was when I watched Pulp Fiction, I had to watch it again because I hadn't a clue what had happened the first time.

@BlobbyMcBlobface Indeed, this! It would bore me to tears to watch one over and over.

Not really, I do know people who only need to see a movie once, just like some only need to read a book once.
Particularly if it’s a movie I enjoyed, I often pick up things I didn’t catch the first time when I watch it again.
I can read books more than once, too.

@bijouxbroussard But with so much to watch and so much to read, does it make sense to go back and watch or read again?
bijouxbroussard · F
@WandererTony If it’s something I especially liked, yes. But then I also only watch movies and read books that I believe will interest me. I don’t pick them up indiscriminately.
WandererTony · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard i understand and agree. Same applies to me. Only if it was really really good.
WandererTony · 56-60, M
I typically do not watch again. I hate it when i know the story and have to sut through it.
Having said that, there are some really good old classics which i have revisited after long gaps and noticed stuff which i do not recall having noticed the first time. Or enjoyed it all over again. But thats very very rare.
Movies are not like music.

I am really not into movies at all. I can't even think of the last one I watched. Likely a cartoon but not sure which one. I can think of only one movie I watched more than once and it was a very long movie. Dr Zhivago.
I agree with her

By comments it seems that no.
Tbh, most movies are like that but there are some I have to rewatch because I missed some important point the first time. And otherwise I like to rewatch scenes, not whole movies.

Watching a movie to some people I suppose is more about the discovery of a new adventure and less about the whole story. Once you know what happens watching it again isn't satisfying.

...to you.
You mean, "Once I [meaning you] know what happens, watching it again isn't satisfying."

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout She and I were talking about this the other night when It's A Wonderful Life was airing all day, she said "I don't get watching movies over and over, I saw this once, I cried, and then I moved on".

@Billybob2 Tell her It's A Wonderful Life, and other movies, often have things in them that are missed the first time seeing, I still see new things I never noticed before in films I have seen many times.
I don't think that's unusual
sometimes i watch it and its a one and done, but if it is a really great movie, i like to see it more than once through out the years.

No, but it's not my attitude of choice. Some movies are like old friends
Magenta · F
That's exactly me.
Why would I want to watch It again? There's no mystery or interest. I know how it all goes and ends.

Not necessarily. Some movies and depending on the viewer are worth watching again while others might not be.

I can watch a movie over and over

Perhaps they don't enjoy movies the same way.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
That is my reaction to many movies.

calicuz · 56-60, M
No, not unique.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Not uncommon.
I generally don't care to watch anything more than once, whether a movie or a series or documentary
