How often do you go to the movie theater?

I went recently.
It's one reason I like asking for movie theater gift cards. Free 'treat'.
I smuggle my own snacks 馃崿馃崻馃

Yes, movie-going can be expensive but matinee's are still cheap.
I paid 8 bucks. Would have been less if it weren't for the online convenience fee.

I like going to the theater, it just seems like there鈥檚 rarely anything I want to watch the past several years

I still love going to the movies. I love everything about it. The lights, the smells, the movie posters, as well as the movie itself. I know it can be expensive but it's worth it to me. 馃檪馃幁馃摻锔忦煄烇笍馃幀馃師锔

As often as I can, I love going to the movies. 馃嵖

@iamnikki saw One Love The Bob Marley movie at the end of February.
iamnikki31-35, F
@Jeephikelove I saw that one too. Wish it was a little more detailed about his life.
Jeephikelove46-50, F
@iamnikki agreed
Once Avery 7th bluemoon
Thevy2941-45, M
The only time its $12 is when they put an old movie on twice a month. They include a free cup of tea. I'm not complaining. It was the first time I had seen; High Noon (1952) it was great.
iamnikki31-35, F
@Thevy29 12 dollar for an old movie is steep 馃槙
Used to enjoy the theater experience, but haven't been as much since COVID.
iamnikki31-35, F
@SethGreene531 interesting. There was only one other person in the theater the last time I went
@iamnikki An empty theater's always a weird experience. I think netflix and amazon took advantage of the lockdowns to polish their content, and pull revenue from theaters to in-home on demand streaming.
iamnikki31-35, F
@SethGreene531 Well I saw the movie early in the afternoon, 2 months after it's debut, so it would make sense. I have netflix and still enjoy an occasional movie outing.
LilPrincess41-45, F
I don't go very often as i don't have the time. Plus I have to drive almost 45 minutes to get to the nearest theater.
Neman162241-45, M
I also smuggle in a pre mixed cocktail from the grocery store. They come in 16 ounce bottles
Jackaloftheazuresand26-30, M
I haven't seen any for 8 years, it used to be once a year in my young days
iamnikki31-35, F
@Jackaloftheazuresand I only remember seeing 3 movies in theaters as a kid.
GeistInTheMachine31-35, M
Nah. Last I went was with my ex over a year ago.
wonkywinky51-55, M
Not since Top Gun 2 years ago.
TheFragile46-50, M
6 or 7 times a year
WintaTheAngle41-45, M
Two or three times a year.
Crazywaterspring61-69, M
Maybe once in five years.
fun4us2bM
3-4 times a year I guess...
mindlessdrifter46-50, M
Not much anymore. We had one in my town for awhile but closed a few years ago. The owner retired and couldn't find a buyer. Too bad, it played some pretty good movies
ChipmunkErnie70-79, M
It's been decades. It costs SO much and everything show up on the big screen TV eventually anyway.
iamnikki31-35, F
@ChipmunkErnie my ticket was $5. I paid an extra $3 for online "convenience" fee
But it was also matinee
Degbeme70-79, M
We haven`t been in years. My back won`t let me sit that long.
iamnikki31-35, F
@Degbeme you're not able to sit? Not even in a comfy recliner chair?
Degbeme70-79, M
@iamnikki Unfortunately no.
ElanorF

iamonfire69641-45, F

iamnikki31-35, F
@tenente which ones?
tenente100+, M
@iamnikki dune pt 2, godzilla x kong, beekeeper and ghostbusters
Hanginginthere31-35, M
ive never paid less then $12 at the movie theater, but Id say less then twice a year
iamnikki31-35, F
@Hanginginthere a movie or similar event that happens in the early part of the day/afternoon, vs at night. Matinee showings are cheaper, that's why I like them 馃檪
Hanginginthere31-35, M
@iamnikki hmm I wonder if there鈥檚 one in my area I live In the ghetto
iamnikki31-35, F
@Hanginginthere all you have to do is check the showtimes at your theater. If it's early in the day, it's matinee, and discounted
