Funniest Sitcom?

What's the funniest sitcom in your opinion?
I'm not a big TV fan tbh but there's a few comedies i enjoy.
Name some of your fave sitcoms.
I'll start with 'Fawlty Towers' and 'Father Ted'.
Married with children
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I was watching that yesterday! Very funny.

@Emjay lol, 18-21 huh.😁
Emjay · 18-21, F
@Fukfacewillie I am. I liked The Munsters and researched Fred Gwynne to see what he looked like.
FrozenWasteland · 61-69, M
Mork and Mindy, ALF (once in a while), the first few seasons of Big Bang Theory. And once in a while, Dharma and Greg absolutely cracked me up.

Though it's not exactly a sitcom, I find much of Silicon Valley absolutely hilarious. Mind you, I have pretty much worked with all those guys, so I probably find it funnier than the average bear would.

Oh, and Ghosts is pretty well-written sometimes too.
SilkandLace2 · 46-50, M
@FrozenWasteland Mork and Mindy, NICE
SilkandLace2 · 46-50, M
Gotta go with Seinfeld here, love it!!
SilkandLace2 · 46-50, M
@Entwistle oh gosh, off the top of my head, George and pastrami, though there's so many, Chicken Roasters, "The Abstinence", any really
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@SilkandLace2 Okay,thank you. I shall look them up.
SilkandLace2 · 46-50, M
@Entwistle excellent!
SW-User

SW-User
@SW-User oh ya I forgot about Friends
SW-User
@SW-User It happens
Love watching Fawlty Towers, Father Ted, Absolutely Fabulous. All great British humour :)

And I also like Friends, Cheers, Frasier.

Bottom and The Young Ones are also ok..

Hmmm I think that's it 🤔

Oh wait Scrubs, Malcolm in the Middle are good 😂🤣👍🏻

Wait wait..The BBG also if people have seen that watch Young Sheldon to know more about him and the way he is :)
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
Happy Days, Bosom Buddies, Mork and Mindy, Laverne and Shirley, ALF, Full House, Married... With Children and Home Improvement.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@Sidewinder Old School! Love it.
@Fukfacewillie Yeah, I had forgotten about Mork & Mindy; that's gotta be up there in the top 3!
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@ElwoodBlues And to think Mork debuted on Happy Days…

Amos 'n' Andy was a 1953 sitcom that has been unjustly ridiculed for the usual sad reasons.
If you ever get a chance to watch any of them I'd highly recommend doing so. A bit dated by today's production values standards, I suppose, but those actors were comedy veterans and they knew their stuff.

@bijouxbroussard

Yes. And Tim Moore's Kingfish was my favorite because he always ended up doing the right thing no matter what the character's deviousness first entailed. Tim Moore (from Wikipedia's profile) - - "I've made it a point never to tell a joke on stage that I couldn't tell in front of my mother."

I LOVED that show in reruns as a kid. By the way, I wonder why All In The Family wasn't forced to cancel during its run? Talk about being truly offensive.
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard

Cripes! There's a ton of the TV episodes on YouTube! Why I never thought to look before I don't know.
@SW-User It was the timing, apparently. It was celebrated back then as a new idea. It wouldn’t work now.
helenS · 36-40, F
I loved the Flintstones when i was a child, and especially their dinosaur pet, "Dino", who behaved as if he were a dog 🤭
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@helenS Know the difference between Dubai and Abu Dhabi?

Dubai don't like the Flintstones.

BUT

AbuDhabi Do:)
helenS · 36-40, F
Since these are the only DVDs I purchased, The Young Ones and Bottom. The live Bottom shows are better still.

Gusman · 61-69, M
Green Acres
Ma and Pa Kettle
I Love Lucy
Mary Tyler Moore Show
Home Improvement
The Golden Girls
The Vicar of Dibley
@Gusman CBS was so stupid to cut off all of their country shows. i thought it was a brilliant line up. and i remember being so excited to see that MTM had a new sitcom coming on and i was not disappointed.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@DIABLISS Many of the early shows, which far surpass any on offer today, will never be seen again.
Though I did Google Ma and Pa Kettle, one is streaming on Roku, Ma and Pa Kettle Back on the Farm.
Repete · 61-69, M
Faulty towers was good , I also liked Keeping up Appearances
There was a lot that I liked years ago but I don’t know any today because I don’t usually watch tv anymore
WandererTony · 56-60, M
I used to enjoy the Lucy show and yes minister when i was young.
A few years back i thought 2and a half men was funny too.
As of now, i dont watch tv. So wont know 🙂
@WandererTony still love I love Lucy....the star upstairs was stellar for Vivian
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
"Fawlty Towers" was hilarious. "Black Adder" 2 and 3 were also awesome. I never really understood what sitcom means though. Would "Jeeves and Wooster" be one?

Disjointed. Never Have I Ever. both Netflix
SW-User
@Penny I may have to give never have I ever another go
IM5688 · 61-69, M
Two and A Half Men
The Odd Couple
@IM5688 it is the same show, isn't it?
IM5688 · 61-69, M
@DIABLISS Basically, Two and a Half Men is a more modern version of The Odd Couple. Two and a Half Men is more sex oriented with a lot more sexual innuendo. The Odd Couple in the 1970's wouldn't be able to get away with what Two and A Half Men gets away with.
nuddie · 61-69, M
Porridge, Dads Army, Vicar of Dibley
SW-User
@nuddie Meh to the first two, although Vicar of Dibley was essential tea-time viewing for our family.
Dawgsfan3 · 41-45, M
I’ve always liked Mama’s Family

You mean like actual old TV shows, or shows on Netflix or Prime for instance.

@Entwistle I was seriously into Walking Dead. Ozark was great. Shameless was awesome.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Mardrae Ahh okay..seen the British Shameless..that was good.
Mardrae · F
@Entwistle yeah, I started watching the British version after I finished the American version and too much of it was different, but I may try watching it again later.
