It’s the end of the latest incarnation of the Doctor Who Series.

I was saddened to see Jodie Whittaker is no longer the The Doctor. I don’t the material she was giving didn’t always make her comfortable being the doctor. Didn’t see her having fun or using her beautiful charming characteristics as an ageless seeker in owing her place as the doctor.
All in all Jodie did fantastic job with what she was given to work with.
I wonder what’s next in store for her? I wish her all the best in her career.

Unfortunately she fell victim to just some atrocious writing that she managed to rise above as a good actor, but you can only show so much character when all you do is rattle off exposition 24/7. Still, I quite liked her as the Doctor and hope she has a wonderful career coming out of this. We literally just finished watching season 12 and Flux + her remaining specials. All in all still had fun. Now just want to see what Ncuti Gatwa has to offer.

@JimboSaturn No the last head writer of the show moved on and his replacement was uh, not good. New show runner is Russell T Davies who wrote for David Tennant's doctor, so great promise for the future at least.

@CountScrofula I personally found the writing the best during the David Tennant times.

@JimboSaturn I liked him, but of the modern Doctors, I have to go with Matt Smith.

I'm glad to see the back of both her and Chibnall. Between them they almost killed the show
pride49 · 31-35, M
I honestly loved Peter Capaldi the best. His no nonsense philosophical nature was refreshing from the constant running 😌

@pride49 "It's so dusty in here. You ought to have a girl in to clean it."
"You can't SAY that!!!"
I was dying.

@pride49 Bill is so so much of everything. I totally fell her at first sight. Ah so much

Yes I stopped watching the Doctor not because of Jodie Whittaker, but the writing wasn't the same. It's a shame, I think she could have been a good doctor.
@JimboSaturn I thought the writing was weak at first but got better as her era went along. Her last story was a nostalgic gift to all of us who have literally followed the show for decades. So many old faces returned. Literally old. I give Chibnall a ton of credit for this. Previous producers were hesitant to bring back Doctors and companions from the 20th century. Chibnall obviously said the hell with it and went with characters in major parts that I thought I'd never see on TV again. It was fun.

@robingoodfellow Oh really, I barely watched it; maybe I'll catch up!
When she was cast I wasn't sold on her. She proved me wrong. She was excellent.
Jungleman · M
woke nonsense, the very old series was superior.

Love doctor who
SusanInFlorida · 31-35, F
doctor who is constantly recast the daleks are the only anchor for this show. dr who is worse than batman
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@SusanInFlorida At least they have a built-in excuse for why the Doctor keeps changing. Fun fact: the writers originally introduced the regeneration gimmick because the first Doctor, William Hartnell, found out from his doctor that he was dying.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
I had no problems with Whittaker as the Doctor per se, BUT the writing of the series just got worse and worse during her tenure.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Least she wasn't given the same script as Christopher Eccelston.. She's a good actress, She'll do fine.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
I kind of liked her as the Doctor, but hated the writing of most of the current series.
TheFragile · 46-50, M
I could never get into Doctor Who.
HumanEarth · F
I think Tom Baker was the best Doctor
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
I don't know, but I hope she has a great career.
