It’s the end of the latest incarnation of the Doctor Who Series.

I was saddened to see Jodie Whittaker is no longer the The Doctor. I don’t the material she was giving didn’t always make her comfortable being the doctor. Didn’t see her having fun or using her beautiful charming characteristics as an ageless seeker in owing her place as the doctor.
All in all Jodie did fantastic job with what she was given to work with.
I wonder what’s next in store for her? I wish her all the best in her career.

Yes the writing dived during her time, but Dr Who has becoime like all things a banner barer for political correctness. You know there are straight white males out there who can be interesting, and there are plenty of other programs that can support minorities. Dr Who had a very succeful couple of spin offs championing non hetrosexual and non male causes, no problem with the Dr and companions reflecting a multi racial Britain but by going totally pc and minority role model Dr Who has stiffled its own popularity and lost its branding. The reason the plts were worse for Jodie was because the people writing them could not write for storng female characters just like Harry Kane cant play a number 10 role and Kirir Tekanawa cant be a Radio 1 DJ. All the talk about toxic masculinity is unsurprising given there are no strong role models being promoted any more. What is perhaps most frustrating though is that pc still stops at the boardroom door so the only people who reallly matter still reserve the power and money for themselves. And they are not role models because their's is a closed shop. Its in the board room that pc really doesnt happen, even politics is more pc these days but the board room is the pace to change the world, not the structure of estalished TV brands. You want new ideas on TV, create new brands, don't dismember old ones. That's making them meaningless. Or do you want Sherlock played by a disabled single parent Martian ? If you want that show, give it a differnet name and a different brand. Rant over.
