Do you ever watch black and white movies? (both)

I find so many of them to be great movies. Not overly complicated, slower than today's frenetic movies.
What are some of your favourite black and white old movies?
Some memorable movies, All about Eve, The Grapes of Wrath, A Streetcar named Desire, On the Waterfront, Judgement at Nuremberg

I'm a sci fi fan from way back. Love the old black and white movies, mainly because they had to rely on plot and dialogue rather than special effects.

@indyjoe Damn, your right. Don't know why I thought it was B&W, but I was sure that it was. I'll admit that it has been about a year since I last saw it. Many thanks for putting me straight on that, but it's still a good movie.

@Bushranger An easy mistake and yes it was a very good film. I don't have anything against color (or even special effects for that matter as long as there is still a good story and they help tell it), but the art of old black and white is often ignored and goes unappreciated in today's world.

@indyjoe Yep. Couldn't agree more.

Oh yes, I love some of those old black and whites they are classics...and black and white was actually and art form in itself, I hate when they colorize them because to me it ruins them. I like to see them as they were intended to be seen.

@indyjoe If they were originally made in black and white then they should be left that way. They shouldn't alter the original in any way at all.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@indyjoe I agree. Colourised movies actually reduce the charm of the original. In my opinion.
So many great old movies with so many great actors/actresses.
James Cagney, Sophia Loren, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Charlton Heston,
Brigitte Bardot, Lee Marvin, Zsa Zsa Gabor.
Plus hundreds more.
