Is it just me

But does anyone else freak out when you go pick up your medicine from the store and you get home and the bottle says they normally stuff and you open it to look at the pills and they are a different size, shape and color. I've taken this pill for a year and it's always been a pink almost egg shaped pill and today it's a small yellow round pill.

Yes nope I am not okay with this.

I hate my OCD so much. The issue will be tomorrow when I try and take it and my mind won't let me. I'll freak out, think 1000 horrible reasons why I can't take it and I'll have to call Joel and he'll try and talk me down. He'll end up leaving work and there is still no guarantee I'll take the pill tomorrow.

Oh Lord I'm freaking out already

That bothers me b/c I have some terrible reactions to some unknown fillers and colors. All reds race my heart dangerously high and cause chest tightness.

So I get nervous. They just changed the color of a very important med that I take and I’m nervous to try it. What makes it worse is my doctor fills 90 days at a time, so I won’t even be able to get it replaced unless I find a brand name that has white pills and hope the fillers in it doesn’t cause me other issues.

@MellyMel22 I know your struggles with this. It is so silly that a pill color change can freak me out but it does.

@Cigarguy I’m sore you’ll be okay, but I get. It can be scary.
Usually the pharmacist will tell you when there’s been a change in pill format. If your pharmacy is still open, I’d give them a call and speak with the pharmacist. If not, get in touch with them tomorrow morning. It’s happened to me several times and there was no issue.

@OlderSometimesWiser honestly I think she did tell me but it doesn't help. It still freaks me out so much.

@geoam1 I don't think it was insurance. The pill has the same name on the bottle it's just a different color and size.

Does it freak you out intellectually as well as emotionally? You can Google that pill (size, shape, color, number on it) and confirm that it is what it is supposed to be. But I do understand that there is an emotional reaction due to your OCD.

@Poppies it's hard to say. I know the pill is the same but one bad thought slips in, then 2 then 3 and then I can't stop it. I try to reason with myself but I can't keep up. It gets so overwhelming I can think of anything else except the pill is going to hurt me. I know it's not but I just can't control it

Google the medication's description. If different, take it back. There might have been a mistake made.
Cigarguy · 41-45, M
@Gusman I did and it looks right. Joel even called the pharmacist. It's still freaking me out and it should not

Simple. Take the bottle back, and ask the pharmacist to identify the pills. They MIGHT be a generic.

@4meAndyou I know but it shouldn't be this hard. I will call them tomorrow
